Find a comfortable position,
Either sitting or lying down in a quiet and peaceful space.
Close your eyes if that feels safe for you,
Or gently soften your gaze.
Take a few deep breaths,
Allowing your body to relax and your mind to settle.
With each breath,
Feel yourself become more grounded and at ease.
Drawing attention towards your heart center in the middle of your chest.
With each breath,
Imagine warmth and love growing within you.
Bringing to mind a phrase or affirmation that reflects love and kindness towards yourself.
It could be something simple like,
May I be happy,
May I be at peace,
May I be healthy.
Repeat this phrase silently to yourself with each breath,
Allowing those words to gently flow through your heart.
Giving them permission to sink deep into your being,
Feeling the warmth of your own love and compassion embracing you.
Allow this feeling of kindness to fill your entire body,
From the top of your head to the tips of your toes.
Gently bring to mind someone you love deeply,
A family member,
A pet,
A close friend,
Or anyone who brings you joy.
Imagine them in front of you,
Radiating warmth and light.
Send them your love and kindness by silently repeating a similar phrase for them.
May you be happy,
May you be at peace,
May you be healthy.
As you say these words,
Feel your heart expanding with love,
Sending it directly to this person.
Visualize them surrounded by a warm glowing light of love and kindness,
Allowing this feeling to grow,
Knowing that your love and good wishes are reaching them.
Supporting their well-being and happiness,
Bringing to mind someone you may not know well,
Someone you see occasionally but don't have a strong relationship with.
It could be a neighbor,
A colleague,
Or even someone you encounter in your daily routine.
Send them the same love and kindness by silently repeating your phrase.
May you be happy,
May you be at peace,
May you be healthy.
Feel the warmth of your love extending to them,
Just as you would send love to a friend or a loved one.
Know that your compassion is unconditional and can extend to everyone,
Regardless of how well you know them.
They too deserve happiness and peace,
Bringing to mind someone with whom you may have had some difficulty or conflict.
This might be someone with whom you're currently upset or someone you've had a challenge with in the past.
With an open heart,
Silently repeat your phrase for them.
May you be happy,
May you be at peace,
May you be healthy.
This might feel difficult and that's okay.
Allow yourself to feel the discomfort.
This isn't about agreeing with the person,
But rather about sending them kindness and wishing for their happiness and peace.
Know that by offering love and kindness,
You are freeing yourself from resentment and anger,
And you are contributing towards healing and peacefulness in your own world.
Now expand your circle of love even further.
Imagine sending love and kindness to all beings everywhere.
People,
Animals,
Plants,
And the earth itself.
Visualize the entire world bathed in a warm glowing light of love and compassion.
Repeat your loving kindness phrase for all beings.
May all beings be happy,
May all beings be at peace,
May all beings be healthy.
As you repeat these words,
Imagine the love flowing out from your heart,
Expanding and connecting to all living things.
Feel the unity and interconnectedness of all beings as your love ripples outwards,

Now drawing your attention back towards your own heart.
Place your hand on your chest and feel the warmth of your own love and kindness.

Take a moment to reflect on how you feel right now.
Notice any changes in your heart,
Your mind,
Or your body.
Carrying this feeling of love,
Kindness,
And compassion with you as you move through your day.
When you're ready,
Gently begin to bring your awareness back into your surroundings.
Taking a deep breath in,
And as you exhale,
Gently begin to wiggle your fingers and toes and gradually open your eyes.
May the love and kindness you have cultivated today continue to grow within you and radiate out to everyone you meet.
