Welcome,
Dear one.
In this meditation,
We'll be reflecting on suffering and pain.
Pain that has purpose and suffering that builds character.
Please listen to this at a time where you'll be undisturbed and can relax into the reflection and into your learning.
Let's begin.
Salt in the wound is painful yet purposeful.
It cleanses out all iniquity,
Removes everything that doesn't belong,
Purifies and cleanses.
But it hurts.
Pain has purpose,
But the pain is real.
Pain.
What does it mean to you?
Pay attention to how it feels right now in your body.
Hold that pain.
Accept it.
Embrace it.
It is teaching you something important.
The salt teaches you that there are things that do not belong in you,
Things that need to be purged,
That need to be removed.
Nothing outside of yourself can cleanse that away.
Yet we need to let the healing come.
We need to welcome that healing presence in order to let the cleansing begin.
Act now.
What in you needs to be let go?
What is it in you that is toxifying you?
Name it to tame it.
Let the salt flow.
I invite you to close your eyes and imagine a flowing river,
Flushing out and away the debris.
And whatever you named as that which needs to be removed as the debris right now,
Floating,
Floating away.
Watch it get smaller and smaller as it floats away.
And with that image,
You feel a peace welling up deep inside you.
A deep and transformative tranquility fills you now.
You are safe in this place of healing.
You are being cleansed and releasing that which is simply not helpful,
That which has been damaging you.
Sit in this place for as long as you need to experience freedom and release.
Thank yourself for spending this time to find healing,
Even when it's difficult.
Even when there's pain,
Pain is purposeful.
And even salt in the wound can bring us healing.
Whenever you feel like you have experienced release,
You may end this practice and open your eyes.
