In motherhood, it’s common to feel overwhelmed and wonder if we’re capable. If you are feeling self-doubt, if you’re not sure if you are enough, you are not alone… This meditation focuses on the important truth – YOU ARE CHOSEN. Feeling called and trusted with responsibility can chase away insecurities with confidence and purpose. Our time together follows a 4-part structure of 1. Concern, 2. Affirm 3. Open 4. Receive. We'll reflect on scripture, pray, use breathwork, and bring somatic awareness into the learning. Rest your mind, listen, and engage with the Spirit as you strengthen your mama confidence. Scripture Referenced: Jeremiah 1:5, Romans 8:28-30, Isaiah 43:1, Jeremiah 29:11. Image by Daniel Reche; Music by BackgroundMusicLab and Oleksii Kaplunskyi on Pixabay.

Welcome,

Dear one.

Our topic today is You Are Chosen.

Feeling called and trusted with responsibility can chase away insecurities with confidence and purpose.

Rest your mind,

Listen,

And engage with God's spirit as you strengthen your mama confidence.

Let's begin.

Here is a common concern new moms have.

Can I do this?

Am I cut out for this,

For being a mom?

It is hard.

It's normal to feel overwhelmed and wonder if we're truly capable of this weighty responsibility.

Many studies show great percentages of new moms have feelings of self-doubt.

It's also common to undergo a crisis of identity.

Some researchers liken this stage of development in women to puberty in adolescents because of the drastic changes.

The term for this challenging transition of self is called matrescence.

If you are feeling self-doubt,

If you're not sure if you are enough,

You are not alone.

God wants to affirm and reassure you right now.

Romans 8,

28-30 says this,

We know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.

God knows His precious ones,

Even in their mother's wombs,

And He has chosen you.

God has chosen you to be the mother of this child.

Take a moment now to take deep breaths,

Centering yourself as you repeat the affirmation,

I am chosen,

Saying I am on the in-breath and chosen on the out-breath.

I am chosen.

I am chosen.

Let's open ourselves up through prayer.

God,

There are days when being a mom is a heavy and hard weight on my shoulders.

On those days,

Help us to remember that it's not by chance that we are here.

We are chosen for this life and this family.

God,

You made us and have great plans for us,

And you will enable us to do it.

We simply need to partner with you.

God,

You say,

I know the plans I have for you,

Plans for your well-being,

Not for disaster,

To give you a future and a hope.

God,

I choose to believe there are good things coming.

Even if right now,

I question whether I can bear it.

You chose me for this role because you believe in me,

And you are here with me right now and always.

Warm my mind,

Taking away negative thoughts of not being enough.

Replace them with the knowledge that I am chosen,

That you knew what you were doing when you chose to make me a mom.

There is a greater plan for my life and for my family,

And I can do this.

I invite you to gently rest your head in your hands,

Physically bringing attention and awareness to your mind,

And letting this truth take root in you in a tangible way.

I am chosen.

As you listen to these next words,

Let that truth take root deep in your mind.

Isaiah 43 says,

This is what the Lord your Creator says,

He who formed you.

Do not fear,

I have redeemed you,

I have called you by name,

You are mine.

Jeremiah 15 says,

Before I formed you in the womb,

I knew you.

Before you were born,

I made you holy,

I appointed you.

What an incredible honor to be chosen as God's instrument of love in the life of a child.

As we so thoughtfully named our children,

God also with great consideration named us.

We are held preciously close.

God is intricately weaving our lives with our families,

And is orchestrating a beautiful symphony right now.

Mama,

You are chosen.

His plans for you are wonderful.

He sees good in your future,

In your family's future.

He sees the breaking of chains,

Transformation,

Freedom,

And release.

Feel yourself step into that calling now.

Allow your hands to gently fall to your lap.

Picture in your mind a cup being filled with life-sustaining water.

As you receive whatever it is you need from God right now.

Whatever you need for this day,

And for this role in motherhood.

Stay here as long as you need to.

And whenever you feel like you have received what you need,

You may end this practice.
