The Calm Balloon Let's begin by finding a comfortable place to sit or lie down.
Let your hands rest softly in your lap or by your sides.
If you feel comfortable you can gently close your eyes or you can look softly at the floor.
Now take a slow breath in through your nose and breathe out through your mouth.
Let's do that again.
Breathe in slowly and breathe out slowly.
Now imagine there is a small balloon inside your tummy.
When you breathe in,
The balloon slowly fills up and gets bigger.
And when you breathe out,
The balloon gently gets smaller.
Let's try it together.
Breathe in,
The balloon grows bigger.
And breathe out,
The balloon is getting smaller.
Breathe in,
Nice and slow.
And breathe out,
Letting your body relax.
Feel your shoulders getting soft.
Feel your arms and legs becoming loose and calm.
If your mind feels busy,
That's okay.
Just imagine your balloon breathing slowly in and out.
In,
The balloon grows.
Out,
The balloon softens.
Your body is calm.
Your breathing is slow.
Take one more deep breath in and a long gentle breath out.
Now wiggle your fingers and your toes and when you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes.
You did a wonderful job calming your body and calming your mind.
