HRV (Heart Rate Variability) breathing focuses on controlling your breath to improve heart rate variability, which is linked to better stress management and overall well-being. The practice involves slow and calm breathing at a rate of about 5 breaths per minute, to stimulate the vagus nerve and promote a calm, balanced state. By synchronizing your breath with your heart's rhythm, you can enhance your body's natural relaxation Music from Uppbeat License code: HYDXHS4YSQW70QPP

Transcript

Welcome to this quick and easy coherence breathing exercise.

To achieve optimal heart rate variability,

We will slow down your breathing to 5 breaths a minute.

Focus on a slow and gentle breath.

Inhale for 6 seconds and exhale for 6 seconds.

Lay or sit down and make yourself comfortable.

Just observe your breath and smile.

Smile during that entire exercise.

Inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth.

And if you are ready,

Take a big breath in and we will start on the exhale.

HRV is vital to me as a distance runner as it’s how I gauge my recovery during sleep- so happy I found this- & yes, I am smiling😀

I have paroxysmal atrial fibrillation and wary of having an episode. Breathing exercises calm me. I liked this one especially the counting instruction.

Great to find about it. If it could be done a bit more slowly next time, and even allow some quiet time to try it ourselves. Thank you, Marc! 🙏🏽🤗
