One partner sits with legs extended or crossed and the other is lying down and gently rests their head in their lap.
Close your eyes and take three deep breaths together.
Inhale slowly,
Filling your lungs completely.
Exhale fully,
Releasing the tension of the day.
As you keep breathing,
Invite this idea into your awareness.
True unity begins with a strong sense of self.
You do not need to lose yourself to love another.
Let this truth settle into your body and mind.
Now,
Imagine you and your partner as two tall trees.
Feel your roots grounded individually,
Your branches reaching freely,
Yet standing close enough to support a shared purpose.
Notice the strength and stability of each tree and the space between you that allows growth and freedom.
Feel the harmony of togetherness and independence.
Now,
Bring your attention to the rhythm of your relationship,
The shared moments and the moments of solitude.
With each inhale,
Sense the nourishment that your individuality brings.
With each exhale,
Feel the bond that your togetherness creates.
Recognize that space and freedom do not weaken connection.
They deepen it.
Now,
Place a hand gently on your heart and silently invite feelings of respect and trust.
Allow yourself to honor your partner's dreams,
Growth and unique path while also embracing your own.
Feel mutual freedom and support as a gift to each other.
Let your awareness settle into the truth that love thrives not through merging but through two whole beings choosing to walk side by side.
