Welcome.
Today we'll be exploring a beautiful practice called heart-brain coherence.
This technique was developed by the HeartMath Institute,
A research organization that has studied the connection between the heart and the brain for over three decades.
Their work shows that when our heart and brain are in sync or coherent,
We can access a powerful state of being where intuition flows effortlessly,
Decisions are clearer,
And we experience greater inner peace and resilience.
Heart-brain coherence is about creating a harmonious connection between the heart and brain.
The quickest way to achieve this is by opening the heart to feelings of gratitude,
Appreciation,
Joy,
Bliss,
And compassion.
And when we cultivate these feelings,
We naturally bring our body into a state of balance,
Allowing us to trust our inner wisdom more deeply and act on it with grace and ease.
During this meditation,
We'll focus on our breath,
Place our hand over our heart,
And immerse ourselves in these uplifting feelings.
By doing this,
We'll help our heart and brain work together more synergistically,
Allowing our intuition to shine and our entire being to flow effortlessly.
So let's begin.
Find a comfortable position,
Either seated or lying down,
And gently close your eyes.
Take a moment to notice your natural breath,
Just observing it as it flows in and out.
Now place one or both hands over your heart.
Feel the warmth of your hand against your chest,
Inviting your awareness to center here,
At the heart space,
Your sacred space of intuition and inner wisdom.
This simple act of placing your hand over your heart signals to your body that it's time to come home,
To come back to yourself.
Begin by taking a slow,
Deep breath in through your nose,
Pushing your belly as far out as possible for a count of four.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Hold it softly,
And then release it slowly through your mouth with an audible sigh,
Pushing your belly towards your spine for a count of six.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six.
Continue this rhythm,
Inhaling deeply,
Holding gently,
And exhaling slowly.
Feel each breath bringing you deeper into relaxation,
Deeper into your heart.
And as you continue this rhythmic breathing,
Focus your attention on your heart.
Imagine your breath is moving in and out through the center of your chest,
As though your heart itself is breathing.
And with every inhale,
Visualize a soft,
Warm light entering your heart.
And with every exhale,
See this light expanding throughout your entire body,
Filling you with a sense of calm and tranquility.
And now I invite you to bring your mind,
To your mind,
A feeling of gratitude,
Appreciation,
Bliss,
Joy,
Or compassion.
It could be a moment where you felt truly connected,
Loved,
Or at peace,
And you could bring an image,
Event,
Or person to mind.
It could be gratitude for the perfect cup of coffee,
The love you feel for a loved one when seeing a smile on their face,
The sun on your skin while sunbathing at the beach.
Whatever it is,
Is perfect for you in this moment.
Allow the feeling of gratitude,
Appreciation,
Joy,
Bliss,
Or compassion to fill your heart and expand every breath.
Let this sensation grow brighter,
Warmer,
And more expansive.
Feel it enveloping every cell of your body,
Filling you from the top of your head to the tips of your toes.
You might find it helpful to softly whisper to yourself,
Thank you,
Thank you,
With each breath.
Feel your heart open wider and wider with every word,
Every breath.
Allow yourself to be fully consumed by this feeling for the next few minutes,
Surrendering to it completely.
And notice how as you do this,
Your heart and brain begin to synchronize.
And you might feel a softening,
A tinkling,
Or a gentle wave of warmth spreading through you.
This is heart-brain coherence,
The magical state where your intuition flows freely and your mind and heart work in perfect harmony.
And for the next few minutes,
Just be,
Breathe,
Feel,
And trust what arises.
And we'll move into silence now.
And you are very safe to feel these feelings and connect to your intuition.
No judgment,
Just ease and grace.
Ease and grace.
As we gently bring this meditation to a close,
Take a deep,
Nourishing breath in and release it with a sigh.
Slowly bring your awareness back to your surroundings.
Wiggle your fingers and toes.
And when you're ready,
And only when you're ready,
Open your eyes gently.
Remember,
You can return to this feeling of heart-brain coherence whenever you need to,
Simply by placing your hand on your heart,
Breathing deeply,
And inviting in gratitude,
Appreciation,
Joy,
Bliss,
Or compassion.
