In this meditation we will be using the tool of self-inquiry to find why it is that we run away from this moment,
From this life that's right here.
Why the need to distract,
Why the need to heighten experience to make it something better than what it is right now.
Maybe there's something in your life that feels overwhelming.
And so to distract,
To fill your mind with something else might feel relieving for the moment,
Right?
But what happens if there's a backlog,
A clogging up of the system,
Not giving proper time for digestion of life,
Assimilation,
So that the real nourishment through each circumstance,
No matter how trying it is,
How triggering,
How scary it might be,
No matter how challenging this experience is in your life,
There's nourishment available,
There are nutrients,
There's strength there's treasure available for you.
If only we can remember to quiet ourselves,
To get really still,
To find satiation in this moment,
In this breath,
To listen to all of those thoughts that feel like it's too much or that it's not enough and just be right here with your body,
Noticing any subtle holding,
Maybe through your brow,
Your eyes,
Your cheeks,
Inviting in life,
This life,
Allowing it to be enough,
Trusting that whatever is delivered to you is only because you have the capacity to digest and assimilate it,
To extract the gifts,
Softening into your body and acknowledging that there are so many gifts available right now,
Right now,
No need to keep filling up with anything that's not just right here,
Allowing this moment to be enough,
Allowing this moment to be enough.
I allow myself to relax and soften into this moment,
Which is enough.
If I notice any thoughts that say I need to be doing more or any thoughts that say I need to be doing less,
Then I just allow myself to be right here,
Receiving the beauty of this moment,
The enoughness,
The simplicity,
My own brilliant presence,
This mystery of life that's right here with me,
Getting to know it,
Getting to know myself.
I'm allowing life in right now,
Bringing hands up together at your heart in a gesture of gratitude for these few minutes of presence,
Of remembering,
And you can choose to continue practice now in silence or to close in gratitude.
Thank you for practicing.
