In this track, I explore the power of yes statements and action-oriented thinking. Using the “pink elephant” as an example, you’ll learn how our brains naturally respond to positive direction and struggle with negative phrasing. I share practical ways to reframe “don’t” statements into empowering yes statements, helping you shift perspective and influence your reality. By changing the way you speak and think, you can create new insights, new possibilities, and begin manifesting the life you truly want.

Our brains naturally understand yes statements and action-oriented statements.

Our brains were not wired to understand no statements.

But so many times,

We focus on what we don't want to happen or what we didn't like about something and then we wonder why things we don't want keep happening.

Let me give you an example.

A little girl,

Maybe four or five years old,

Was holding a sandwich.

And her dad said,

Don't drop the sandwich.

What did she do?

She dropped the sandwich.

And it wasn't because she wanted to disobey her dad.

It's literally because the brain only heard the subject part of the sentence,

Which was drop the sandwich.

Especially at that age,

She did not understand the don't part of the sentence.

On a side note,

A lot of parents think that their children are disobeying them,

When in reality they're just not speaking in the brain's natural language.

How many times as a kid do you remember your parents saying,

Don't yell or don't run,

And then you yell and run?

Maybe if we said things like,

Please walk,

Or please use a softer tone,

That might help get the point across.

Here's a little experiment.

I want you to not think about a pink elephant.

What are you doing right now?

You're probably thinking about a pink elephant.

Now why is that?

Because that was the first thing you heard,

Pink elephant.

It's only later that you process,

Oh,

She told me to not think about the pink elephant.

I've been spending a couple months trying to train my brain to speak in yes statements,

And honestly,

It's harder than I thought.

It's like learning a new language,

But it's doable.

It just takes time,

Consistency,

And effort.

Every time I catch myself using a don't statement,

I try to match it with a do statement.

For example,

If I said,

Today I don't want it to rain,

I pause and say,

Actually what I mean is,

I hope the sky is blue today.

Sometimes I really have to think about the opposite statement,

But it's also giving me a little challenge to do throughout my day.

Changing the way you think can change your whole world.

It can give you new perspectives,

New insights,

And from there,

You can make new choices,

Which are the keys to manifesting the life that you want.

Everything starts on the inside.

Everything starts with the way you think and the way you speak.

So if you're open to it,

Try to start speaking in action-oriented yes statements,

And see if you notice a difference.

And don't forget to let me know how it goes.
