Hello and thank you so much for choosing this meditation today.
My name is Corrine and I invite you to get comfortable.
You can lay down,
I do recommend laying down for this meditation,
But of course you can stay seated if you prefer.
So allow your body to get comfortable however you are,
Letting your arms rest,
Allowing your fingers to be loose.
Let your legs relax and let your eyes gently close.
Feel the weight of your body being supported by the ground beneath you and take a long deep breath in and as you exhale feel your body melt into this moment a little more.
Feel the gentle rhythm of the breath of each inhale and exhale like a gentle autumn breeze as it flows in so soft,
Calm and effortless.
With each breath in feel a gentle expansion in your chest,
A sense of openness in your body and with each exhale allow yourself to release,
Letting go of any tension in your muscles or in your mind and with every breath your body sinks a little deeper.
Here in England it's November,
It's autumn and I've still been teaching yoga outdoors on Sunday mornings.
It is the most beautiful setting,
The weather's been very kind to us.
I would love to take you there with me.
So as you close your eyes imagine you're laying or sitting on the grass in the beautiful outdoors surrounded by tall trees,
Surrounded by golden crunchy leaves and you feel the cool crisp air that flows in and out of your nose.
It melts through your entire body bringing calmness all the way down to your toes.
The sunlight wraps around you warming your body.
You feel the sun shining at the top of your head and you feel the crown of your head soften and relax.
Let the sense of ease flow down to your forehead,
Your eyes,
Your cheeks and your jaw.
Allow your tongue to rest and you feel this calm glow of the beautiful autumn sunshine on your neck and your shoulders.
Your shoulders relax away from your ears and the softness flows down your arms through your elbows,
Your wrists and your hands all the way towards your fingertips.
Bring your awareness to your chest,
Your heart as you feel the gentle rise and fall of the breath.
With each inhale feel a gentle lightness expanding inside of you from the sunshine and with each exhale you feel the warmth spread throughout your body,
Softening and nurturing your body.
Feel the support beneath you with the cushioned grasp.
Allow your lower back to release and your hips to sink deeper.
You feel the sunshine on your legs,
On your thighs,
Your knees,
Your calves and ankles all the way to your feet and your toes as they release and melt towards the air.
Let go,
Your whole body rests here and bring your awareness back to the golden leaves beneath you,
Sparkling in the sunlight that filters through the branches above.
Hear the soft rustle as the breeze passes through and the birds chirping in the distance.
Smell the earthy richness of autumn,
The scent of leaves and the soil and feel the warmth of the sun on your skin.
Allow yourself to fully rest here,
Basking in this peaceful golden sanctuary,
Just like the forest in autumn,
Still,
Quiet and glowing.
Enjoy resting here a little bit longer if you have the time.
When you are ready come back to the sun shining above you and take a long and deep breath in,
Breathing in that beautiful glow into your body and as you exhale feel the glow flow all the way toward your toes.
Take one more deep breath in,
Breathing in the beautiful sunshine glow into your body and exhale,
Let it leave you feeling lighter and brighter.
