Welcome to the third day of 21 days of restful sleep.
In the past two days,
We've laid the foundation for better sleep by creating sanctuary and letting go of worries.
Today,
We'll delve deeper into the power of the present moment.
Our lives are often filled with distractions and concerns,
Pulling us away from the here and now.
But sleep is a gift that can only be unwrapped in the present moment.
Tonight,
We'll explore the beauty and tranquility that lies within the here and now.
Find your comfortable position in bed,
Just as you've done in the previous nights.
Close your eyes gently and take a deep breath,
Inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth.
Let go of any lingering tensions or restlessness.
Tonight,
Our focus is on the present moment.
It's easy to get caught up in the busyness of life,
Allowing worries about the future and regrets from the past to intrude on our thoughts.
But here,
In this sacred space,
We have the opportunity to embrace the present.
As you continue to breathe peacefully,
Bring your awareness to your breath.
Feel the gentle rise and fall of your chest with each inhalation and exhalation.
Your breath is your anchor to the present moment,
A reminder that you are here,
Now.
Imagine your breath as a thread connecting you to this very moment.
With each inhale,
You are weaving yourself more deeply into the fabric of the present.
With each exhale,
You are releasing the past and future,
Allowing them to dissolve like mist in the morning sun.
As you breathe,
Allow your attention to wander through your body.
Notice any sensations,
Any areas of comfort or discomfort.
Be present with your physical self.
This body of yours is your vehicle through life and it deserves your loving attention.
Now bring your attention gently to your senses.
What do you hear in this moment of quiet?
Perhaps it's the gentle hum of the night or the rustling of leaves in the wind.
Listen without judging,
Simply observing the sounds that surround you.
Next,
Gently become aware of any scents in the air.
Is there a subtle fragrance in your room,
Perhaps from freshly laundered sheets or a scented candle?
Breathe in deeply,
Savouring the present aroma.
Take a moment to appreciate the feeling of your body against the sheets and the softness of your pillow.
Be fully present in the physical sensations of this moment.
Now let's take a moment to softly gaze inward.
Consider the emotions and thoughts that may have accompanied you to bed tonight.
With self-compassion,
Acknowledge them without judging.
They are part of your human experience.
Imagine these emotions and thoughts as leaves on a stream,
Gently drifting by.
You are the observer on the bank,
Watching them pass without attachment.
In this moment,
There is no need to engage with them.
Simply let them flow.
As you continue to breathe and be present,
Feel a sense of calm and stillness washing over you.
This is the gift of the present moment,
A sanctuary of peace and serenity.
Before we conclude our meditation tonight,
Take a moment to express gratitude for the here and now.
Gratitude for this present moment is a pathway to profound peace and contentment.
As you lay here,
Immersed in the beauty of the present,
Whisper to yourself,
I am grateful for this moment of presence and peace.
Let these words resonate within you like a soothing lullaby,
Preparing you for a night of deep and restful sleep.
In this oasis of tranquility,
You are ready to drift into a peaceful slumber,
Fully embracing the gift of the present.
Tomorrow,
We will continue our journey to unlock the secrets of restful sleep.
Until then,
Sleep well and sweet dreams.
