Welcome,
Just take a moment to get comfortable and then when you're ready take a deep breath in and a long slow breath out.
Just let it all go,
Good.
In this practice we're about to breathe together.
Your breath is your tool,
Your anchor,
Your medicine.
I'll be your guide throughout this practice,
But remember that you're ultimately in control.
You're the captain of your own ship.
In this practice we'll be using two techniques.
The first one is to balance your breath.
The second is conscious connected breathing,
Circular breathing or euphoric breath,
Call it what you will.
It's a continuous flow of breath,
No pauses,
Circular.
At times this practice can feel intense,
So just lean into it,
Knowing that you're in control.
If it does become too much,
Just allow yourself to become anchored in your natural breath once again.
Okay,
Let's begin.
We're going to start by balancing our breath,
Going to inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth.
I invite you now to exhale,
Emptying your lungs.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Inhale,
Inhale through the nose,
Exhale,
Exhale through the mouth,
Inhale,
Exhale,
Inhale.
We're now going to lengthen the exhale,
Exhale,
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Inhale.
Just release the breath and let yourself sit with a natural breath,
No effort,
No control.
In a moment,
We're going to breathe together in a circular breathing pattern,
Continuously connected,
No pauses,
In through the nose,
Out through the mouth.
As you inhale through the nose,
You actively draw the breath in.
As you exhale through the mouth,
There's no effort,
You just let the breath go.
Okay,
Let's get ready to breathe together,
Three,
Two,
One,
Begin.
In and out,
In and out.
Stay with the rhythm,
Continuous,
Unbroken,
In through the nose,
Out through the mouth.
Active inhale,
Passive exhale.
We're now going to deepen the breath,
More air,
More energy,
Three,
Two,
One,
Now deepen.
Follow the rhythm,
In through the nose,
Out through the mouth.
Feel the energy rising.
Next increase,
Fuller,
Stronger breaths,
Three,
Two,
One,
Now.
Fuller,
Stronger,
Deeper.
Feel the power.
Feel the energy rise.
Now it's time for the final push.
The inhale is active,
The exhale is also active now,
So you're going to pull the breath in and push the breath out.
This last little burst as we head towards the breath holes.
Next increase,
Three,
Two,
One,
Now.
This should feel contained,
Less about more air,
But more about control.
Almost like you're using less air,
But with more intention.
Don't let it become chaotic.
Strong breath in,
Deliberate breath out.
Get ready for the breath hole,
Big inhale.
Now exhale,
Emptying the lungs completely and hold.
Hold those empty lungs and feel.
You can lightly engage the body,
Lifting the pelvic floor.
Keep holding,
But if you need to let go,
If the breath hole becomes too much,
Just take a little sip in and then empty the lungs again and continue to hold the empty lungs until the next phase.
You can do this as many times as you need.
A soft embrace through the core,
Just enough to feel contained,
Not strained.
As you magnify that feeling of energy coursing through you.
In a moment I'm going to ask you to take a final deep inhale and then hold the inflated lungs.
Get ready,
Three,
Two,
One.
Deep breath in,
Fill those lungs and then hold them.
Hold those inflated lungs,
No strain,
Just fullness.
Feel the energy coursing.
Feel that expansion.
Energy moving.
Awareness lingering.
Now just release the breath.
Now just let everything settle.
No control,
No effort,
Just your natural breath.
And feel your body.
Feel the space.
Feel the energy you've created.
Never underestimate the power of your breath.
The breath is the key to whatever you seek.
And all you need to do is connect to it,
At any moment.
And you can return to it and use it to reset,
To ground or to rise.
Everything you've just experienced came from within you,
Not from me.
I was nothing more than your guide.
It came from you.
So carry that feeling of empowerment with you.
Knowing that the breath waits patiently for your return.
Now just slowly draw your awareness back to your space.
Taking your time.
And when you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Now just let the gentle breath be the wind under your wings,
As you float into the rest of your day.
Namaste.
