Chandra KJ

For Chandra, yoga can be said to be a sanctuary for her, a space where she feels the most comfortable with herself. Her first step into a yoga class at 2005, it immediately became a place for her to explore the various layers of herself. Ever since then yoga could be said to have instantly become a big part of her life, and after 8 years of being a student she felt confident enough to share her knowledge and has been teaching ever since for 12 years now. Based in Indonesia, Chandra’s classes are a combination of movements, yoga asana and also hold poses. The movements are intentionally simple and accessible, so that everyone—regardless of experience—can feel a sense of connection to themselves during practice.Sometimes she teaches Hatha Yoga, inspired by Vikasa, which tends to be slow and intense. Other times, she lead slow-flow Vinyasa classes, moving gently from one posture to the next. Besides yoga classes, Chandra also teaches meditation. As she believes that meditation is the heart of yoga—its true purpose and essence. At the core of her teaching is the belief that the most meaningful part of yoga lies in the willingness to show up with honesty and to accept oneself fully, just as they are.
