Rewire Frustration: Tapping to Unlock Your Nervous System
You know that feeling when you're frustrated and you can't quite explain why? It's bigger than the situation, heavier than it should be, and nothing you do seems to move it? That's because frustration isn't one emotion. It's two stacked on top of each other. This tapping session works through both layers separately so your body can release what it's been holding and you can move from reacting to choosing. Part of The Rewire: From Survival Mode to Self-Trust series.

Hi beautiful souls.
Today we're going to talk about frustration and I want to start by telling you something that might change the way you experience it from here on out.
Frustration is not one feeling,
It's two.
Under every frustrated moment there's anger because something is not going the way you need it to and underneath that there's helplessness,
The feeling that you might not be able to change it.
And when those two stack up on each other your nervous system doesn't know what to do with them so it locks up.
You get stuck,
You start to spin and react from a place that doesn't even seem like you.
That's not a character flaw,
That's just your nervous system doing its job trying to protect you.
But today we're going to give it something better to do.
We're going to tap through both layers separately,
The anger first and then the helplessness and then we're going to land somewhere new in a place where you can actually choose because that's what this whole series is about.
Moving from survival mode into self-trust and it starts right here with this.
So let's get started.
We're going to start by taking a deep breath in through the nose,
Hold at the top and a long slow exhale through pursed lips like we're blowing through a straw,
All the way out to the end of your breath.
Let's start by tapping on the karate chop point which is the side of your hand.
So you can choose either hand,
Whichever side feels good to tap on and we're going to say these statements together.
And you're just going to repeat the statements after me.
Even though I am feeling this frustration,
I choose to love and accept myself exactly as I am.
Even though this frustration has been living in my body,
I deeply and completely love and accept myself.
Even though I don't know how to fix this yet,
I am choosing to be kind to myself.
All right,
So now let's tap through the anger and we're going to start by tapping on the eyebrow point right at the start of your eyebrow.
You can tap on one side,
The other side or both.
All right,
So tapping here we say,
I am angry.
Tapping at the side of the eye,
Something's not going the way I need it to.
Tapping under the eye and I am tired of this.
Under the nose,
I am so tired of pushing and not getting anywhere.
Tapping on the chin,
This is real anger in my body right now.
Tapping on the collarbone and I am allowed to feel it.
All right,
So now we're going to tap under the arm.
You're going to go four fingers down from your armpit,
Tapping on the side.
This anger makes sense.
And it showed up for a reason.
Tapping at the top of the head.
I see you anger.
I hear you and I am not going to fight you.
All right,
Now let's tap through that feeling of helplessness underneath it.
Go back to the eyebrow point and under this feeling of anger,
There is helplessness.
Side of the eye,
I don't like that word,
But it's true.
Under the eye,
Part of me feels like nothing I do will change this.
Under the nose,
That's exhausting.
Carrying that is exhausting.
Now,
Chin.
I have been trying so hard.
Collarbone,
And it still doesn't feel like enough.
Again,
Under the arm.
This helplessness doesn't mean I am broken.
It means I'm human.
Top of the head.
I can feel this and still be okay.
I can feel this and still choose.
And one more round.
We're going to shift all of that right now.
So coming back to our eyebrow point,
We say,
What can I actually choose right now?
Side of the eye.
I can choose to take one breath.
Under the eye,
I can choose to soften my shoulders.
Under the nose,
I can choose to remember that my body is safe.
On the chin,
I am someone who gets to choose.
Collarbone.
Even when things get hard,
I have agency.
Under the arm,
I trust myself to figure this out.
One step at a time.
Top of the head.
I am moving from reaction to choice,
And that changes everything.
Release.
Take a deep breath in through your nose.
Hold at the top and release.
Beautiful soul.
You just did something real.
You didn't just think about frustration.
You chose to move through it.
You let your body release what it's been holding.
The anger.
The helplessness.
You named them.
You felt them.
And then you chose something different.
That's self-regulation.
That's what it looks like to rewire.
This is part of a series called The Rewire,
From survival mode to self-trust.
And every time you show up to one of these,
You're building something.
You're teaching your nervous system that it doesn't have to run the old program anymore.
Remember,
You're magical,
And you've got this.
