My name is Ben Holtz and in this video I'm going to share with you a beautiful breathing technique that has been used for thousands and thousands of years in the yogic tradition.
It's a pranayama technique and it's called breath of fire.
Breath of fire is an incredible breathing technique for heating the body up.
Waking the body up helps to balance the nervous system.
Again,
It creates heat in the body.
It helps with digestion,
Helps with concentration,
And it helps overall to purify the body to get out any type of energy that may be lingering in the nervous system that you no longer want to hold on to.
This is a great breathing technique that's pretty quick to help to expel that.
And this technique is pretty simple,
But it takes a little bit of practice to get used to.
So we're going to be breathing in our bellies and similar to the most recent video that you watched,
The priming breath work.
Before we bring our arms up,
Back down.
And we forcefully inhale and exhale through the nose.
We're going to be doing the same thing with the nose,
Except faster.
We're going to be breathing through our belly,
Kind of like a machine.
Like I said in the last video,
We're like an engine.
And this is Breath of Fire.
So we're going to be pushing out on the small inhale,
Really short powerful inhale.
At first,
Don't worry about the belly coming out and in,
Out and in,
Out and in,
Out and in,
Out and in.
It's just too fast,
Right?
It's too fast to even say,
But we're going to be focusing on the maintenance and control of the breath.
Let's see,
It can sit like this.
You deep breath and then practice with me if you will taking a deep breath in through the mouth this time.
And let it go through the mouth.
Deep breath in.
I don't know.
Starting breath of fire in 3,
2,
1.
Oof!
Amazing.
This breathwork is also really good for.
.
.
Circulation so you can probably feel that the blood flowing pumping and flowing in the body actually I can and so This technique I like to try to do it for at least one minute So if you wear a watch or if you have your stopwatch on your phone,
There's not a certain amount certain you can't count 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8,
You know,
It's Too much,
So we'd like to do it for an extended amount of time 1 to 5 minutes I mean,
Once you get up to five minutes,
This breathing technique becomes very easy.
It becomes a journey,
It becomes difficult to do and it's beautiful because it really teaches you a lot and it allows you to let go of a lot.
You might feel emotions coming up during this technique,
You might feel some fear and anxiety and really working through that,
Pushing through that,
Working with your shadows,
Pushing through is such an incredible way to move beyond.
You Trials and tribulations that we face day-to-day life This breathing technique can really help you with that whenever you start getting up into the three to five minute range It's taxing on the body In a good way.
It's like exercising working out.
And so yeah,
If you're interested in more of like running and lifting weights and Doing some like hip training or or some high pace yoga and this breathwork technique is a great technique to implement into your practice and your routine.
Okay,
So breath of fire one more time.
I'm going to take a breath into the mouth.
Good night,
Girl.
Breath in the mouth.
And then go.
Three,
Two,
One.
Okay,
Guys after this video I encourage you to practice this for 10-15 minutes.
However long you'd like before moving on to the next video.
This is Breath of Fire and my name is Ben Old.
Thank you for watching and namaste.
