Good morning.
Take a deep inhale and a deep exhale.
Maybe in the next breath,
You try that in and out of the nose,
Feeling the body expand with the in-breath,
Feeling yourself soften and let go with a long,
Slow exhale.
If you're still lying down,
You could point the toes,
Stretch the hands up overhead,
Taking a full body stretch as you continue to breathe.
If you're already in a seat,
You could still stretch the hands overhead,
Taking a deep breath there,
And then maybe bringing the hands back down as you shift the head towards one side and then the other,
Making a slow half circle with the neck.
Wherever you are,
You might take another few movements that feel good to you,
Signaling to the body that you're waking up,
That you're here to pay attention to the sensations inside you.
Welcome to a new day.
What energy or feeling do you want to call in for this day?
What do you want to cultivate today?
As you consider these questions,
I encourage you to set aside the to-do lists and calendar entries.
They will still be there on the other side of this moment.
So,
In this moment,
Consider instead how you want to feel as you move through your day rather than what you will get done.
Maybe you want to feel compassionate towards yourself and others.
Maybe you want to cultivate patience today.
Maybe you want to feel connected or curious or full of ease.
Maybe it's something different that I'm not naming.
How would it feel to cultivate the sense that you are already enough?
Take a few breaths.
Connect with yourself.
See what might rise to the surface.
Breathe in that energy,
That feeling you want to cultivate today.
Soften the face.
Soften the jaw.
Let your shoulders relax.
And let that feeling flood through you.
Take one more slow,
Steady inhale.
Slow,
Steady exhale.
And begin to move into the next part of your day.
