Welcome to When Life Changes.
I'm so glad you're here.
So before we begin,
Just let yourself know.
That you do not need to be feeling calm,
Positive or strong today.
Maybe life has changed in ways that you never expected.
Maybe you're living with uncertainty,
Difficult news,
Worries.
Illness or simply the exhaustion of carrying too much for too long.
So whatever has brought you here?
Know that you are welcome.
Just as you are.
And for these next few minutes.
Allow yourself to be gently supported.
So find your comfy space either sitting or lying down.
Let us find a position that feels kindest for you today.
Take a moment to settle in.
Feel your body soften.
Shoulders gently releasing down from your ears.
Jaw is letting go.
You're back.
Softening.
Your arms and hands and fingers just resting.
Your neck letting go.
Your chest softening and opening.
Your belly.
Breathe in deep.
And as you breathe out,
Release and let go,
Soften your belly.
Hips are releasing.
Legs,
Feet and toes resting heavily.
Feel into that feeling of relaxation.
Of letting go.
Of just being here in this moment.
And when you're ready.
Take a soft breath in through your nose.
Then slowly breathe out,
Letting go a little more.
Breathe in.
And breathe out.
Releasing any stress or tension.
One more gentle breath in.
And now just let your breath leave without effort.
Just resume your natural breathing pattern now.
When life changes,
It can feel as though the ground beneath us has shifted.
The familiar it's no longer feeling so familiar.
Plans may change.
Your body might feel different.
And the future may feel harder to imagine.
And even when we are coping.
Doing our very best.
Can still be those moments when everything feels so tender,
Uncertain,
Or overwhelming.
So there's no need to look too far ahead.
You don't need to work out the whole journey.
You're simply being invited to return to your breath.
Your body.
This moment.
And just feel where your body meets your chair or bed,
The floor that is holding you.
Just let yourself receive that support.
You have been carrying so much.
So allow something else to carry you.
Just feel how your shoulders have softened.
Relax the space around your eyes.
Feel how your jaw has loosened.
Just let your breathing find its own gentle rhythm.
Place one hand over your heart,
One hand over your belly.
Feel the warmth of your hands.
The rhythm of your breath.
Breathing in.
Breathing out.
Feel your own quiet touch.
It's such a simple message of care.
And you are saying to yourself.
I am here with you.
Take a moment and offer those words inwardly.
I am here with you.
Beautiful.
It's just a small act of kindness.
I am here with you.
Now just feel your breath.
Moving beneath your hands.
You are right here in this moment.
Breathing.
Feeling.
Meeting this moment as best you can.
Now bring your hands up to your shoulders.
Crossing your elbows and just give yourself a little hug.
Feel your care.
Feel your kindness.
A gentle hug.
The power of touch.
Release your hands now and just let them rest.
Now just visualize that beneath you is the deep,
Steady earth.
Ancient.
Patient and quietly strong.
The Earth is not asking you to explain what has happened.
It's not asking you to be brave.
And it's not asking you to make meaning from everything today.
But it is simply holding you.
Now you gently notice roots of light that are extending down from your body.
These are soft,
Steady roots.
Not holding you in place,
But helping you to feel connected.
These beautiful lights.
They are flowing down through the layers of earth.
Finding calm.
Those quiet places of inner strength.
Breathe in.
Receive this support.
And breathe out.
Letting go a little of the weight that you have been carrying.
Just only what feels possible in this moment.
It might just be one small layer of tension.
One worried thought.
Or something that can wait until later.
Now silently offer yourself these words.
In this moment,
I am supported.
Breathe in.
In this moment.
I do not have to do everything.
Another breath.
I can meet myself with kindness.
Feel those words resting gently within you.
There may be many things at the moment that you cannot control or maybe questions that don't have any answers yet.
You are a human being who is moving through something difficult.
And you truly deserve tenderness here.
You truly need your rest.
You truly need your kindness.
So gently bring your attention back to your breath now.
Your inhale arrives.
Your exhale follows.
Again.
And again.
Feel the rhythm of your breath.
And how it just simply meets you where you are.
Just notice where you feel your breath most clearly right now.
Maybe it's in your chest.
Your ribs.
Maybe your abdomen.
Or even at your nostrils.
And let this place become your small inner home.
Somewhere that you can return to when the mind travels too far into tomorrow.
Breathe in gently.
And as you breathe out,
Soften the pressure to have everything understood.
Breathe in.
And breathe out the need to appear strong all the time.
Here you are giving yourself this moment of rest.
You're standing now beside a quiet path.
The path continues ahead but you cannot see all of it.
It might turn through trees or disappear beyond a gentle bend.
And you may not know exactly where it will lead to.
But you do not need to walk the whole path today.
You only need to notice the small piece of ground beneath your feet.
This step.
This breath.
This moment.
Life may have changed for you,
But there is still this gentleness,
This kindness available to you.
The beauty that you may find unexpectedly.
Those moments of love,
Connection,
Laughter,
Rest and quiet meaning.
So just allow the possibility that life will meet you with these small moments of wonder,
Of goodness,
Of love,
Of life.
Take a slow breath in here.
And as you breathe out,
Feel your feet becoming steady on the path.
The earth is beneath you.
The air is around you.
And you feel the breath moving within you.
And you know that you can meet this moment.
One step at a time.
And you know that you don't have to be strong every moment.
And just let those words flow.
Rest softly in your heart.
Know that even though plans may have had to change,
There is still a whole inner world within you.
There is still love.
There is still wisdom.
There's still breath.
And there is still that part of you that notice.
The beauty that receives kindness and reaches for comfort.
So just allow yourself to feel health.
Held by this moment?
By the earth.
By your breath.
And by your own compassionate presence.
So take a fuller breath in now.
And release it slowly.
Again,
Breathing in gently.
And breathing out with a longer,
Softer exhale and a gentle sigh.
Feel the steadiness of the earth gently moving into your body.
Feel it in your legs,
Your center,
Your heart.
And maybe now you feel a little more supported.
More able to meet the next moment.
And remember,
Even when life feels uncertain,
You can return.
To the ground beneath you,
To the breath within you.
The quiet kindness of your own hand over your heart.
And remember you only need to meet the step that is right here.
Just meet what comes,
One breath at a time.
So let's rest here for a few moments.
Let yourself receive the quiet.
Notice the sounds nearby.
The gentle air against your skin.
Take a moment to roll your shoulder.
Gently stretch and carry this compassion with you.
One breath.
One step.
One moment at a time.
Thank you so much for joining me on this journey of self-care.
Of taking time for you.
Until the next time,
Namaste my friends.
