Hello and welcome!
If your mind has been busy tonight.
If your thoughts have been racing,
Looping,
Or worrying.
You are not alone.
Sometimes the world becomes quiet at night.
But sometimes your mind does not.
Body can grow tired but thoughts continue moving.
Maybe we're playing conversations,
Imagining possibilities.
And often the harder we try to force sleep,
The more awake we become.
So tonight.
This is not about trying to make yourself sleep.
There is no pressure here,
No expectation.
This is simply an invitation to soften your mind.
To slow your nervous system.
And to gently step out of the stream of overthinking.
And return to the present moment.
Sleep arrives when we finally feel safe enough to let go.
And as Seth Godin once said,
Nothing happens when you are asleep except that you become healthy.
So now allow yourself to settle into your comfy space,
Warm and cozy.
Just feel your body begin to soften.
And gently,
Smoothly close your eyes.
Let's arrive with the breath now.
So just take a smooth breath in.
And softly breathe out.
Breathing in gently.
And exhaling slowly.
Just allow your breath to become softer.
Quieter and easier.
Take a deep breath in.
And as you exhale,
Just imagine releasing some of the mental noise that you have been carrying.
There is nothing you need to figure out tonight.
And for these moments you are simply here.
Breathe in deeply.
Resting.
Being held by this very moment.
A racing mind is often a tired mind.
A mind that has been carrying too much for too long.
And sometimes thoughts race because we care deeply.
And the mind sometimes thinks that if it keeps thinking it can somehow create safety.
But endlessly thinking rarely brings peace at night.
Can bring more alertness,
More exhaustion.
And your nervous system begins to stay activated even when the body desperately wants to rest.
So,
Tonight,
You are simply allowing yourself to step back from your thoughts.
You do not need to silence your mind completely.
But you are just allowing your mind to gradually soften.
Just like waves calming on the surface of water.
Thought by thought.
Breath by breath.
Often before sleep your mind begins to search for answers,
Maybe trying to predict tomorrow or trying to prepare.
And not every thought or problem needs to be carried into your bed.
Some things can wait until the morning.
And one of the kindest things you can say to yourself tonight is,
I can let go of my thoughts.
So just take a slow breath here.
And as you breathe out,
Just imagine placing all your worries into a small container beside you.
And just simply set them down for now.
Because tonight,
Your mind deserves rest too.
Now gently bring awareness to your body.
Just notice where tension may still be lingering.
Perhaps around your eyes or your jaw.
Your net.
Your chest.
Your stomach.
Just invite those areas to soften.
Your forehead is smoothing.
Relax the muscles around your eyes.
Let your jaw soften.
Your shoulders relax.
Your chest is loosening.
Your belly is soft.
And now your body is becoming heavier.
More supported.
And the bed beneath you is gently carrying everything for you.
So as you inhale,
And as you exhale,
Your nervous system is settling further.
It's a bit like snow slowly falling in silence.
Quiet,
Soft,
Still.
Now you see yourself lying beneath a peaceful night sky.
The air is cool and calm against your skin.
And above you,
There are countless stars shimmering softly in the darkness,
Like tiny points of light scattered across the heavens.
And everything here feels still.
Quiet and hurried.
And the world itself.
Seems to have softened.
And now for the first time today.
You no need to rush anywhere.
There's no need to think ahead.
Beneath you the ground feels steady and supportive.
It's holding you completely.
So just allow your whole body to soften more deeply with each breath you take.
And as you rest here beneath those beautiful,
Bright stars,
The night sky is stretching endlessly above you.
And now you see it is so vast,
So spacious,
So open.
And slowly,
Your thoughts begin to feel smaller inside that vastness.
And not because your worries are unimportant,
But because you no longer need to hold them tonight.
So one by one.
Each of your worried thoughts are becoming like a small cloud drifting across the night sky.
Maybe it's a thought about tomorrow.
A conversation that's replaying itself.
Our responsibility.
A what if.
And now you just simply watch them gently float past.
They are moving slowly across the sky.
No chasing,
No resisting.
Just a bowing And as each cloud drifts further away,
More space begins opening within your mind.
Now there is more quiet.
More stillness,
More breath between your thoughts.
You begin to realize that not every thought needs your attention tonight.
And those thoughts are simply passing through,
Like clouds,
Like wind,
Like the distant waves fading softly into the sea.
And now you notice those bright stars again above you.
Their study.
Peaceful.
And unaffected by the movement of passing clouds.
Are now somewhere within you.
Is also a steady place.
It's a quiet place beneath the noise of your mind.
It's a calm place that has always been there.
And now tonight.
You are gently returning.
To that quieter part of yourself.
With every slow breath you take now.
Your nervous system softens further.
Your forehead is relaxing.
Your jaw is loose.
Your shoulders grow heavy.
And your mind becomes quiet.
And now just imagine a soft silver light from the night sky slowly surrounding you.
It is so gentle.
So calming.
So comforting.
It's just like the peaceful stillness of the night itself wrapping around you.
Wrapping around you with warmth,
With protection,
With ease,
With softness.
And this light also carries a sense of safety.
Of release,
Of deep rest.
And as this light settles around you.
Your thoughts are becoming so much slower now.
They are further apart.
Just like a lake becoming still after wind.
Quiet ripples softening into calm water.
So just allow your mind to rest now.
And allow yourself to rest.
So let's just remain here for a few quiet moments beneath the beautiful bright stars.
Here,
You are held by the night.
Held by stillness.
Held by your soft breath.
Flowing in.
And flowing out.
You are safe enough to soften.
Safe enough to let this day go.
And safe enough.
To rest.
Because rest is not wasted time.
Rest is where healing happens.
Your body restores itself deeply during sleep.
Your mind processes emotion and your nervous system,
It recalibrates.
And even your heart benefits from deep rest.
So,
What invites sleep closer for you tonight?
Gentleness does.
Compassion does.
Softness does?
And in this moment right now.
You are turning toward kindness.
You are turning towards softness.
You are turning toward deep sleep.
So quietly,
Softly within yourself.
My mind can soften now.
I release this day.
I am safe enough to rest.
And just gently and slowly breathe those words deep into your being.
Wonderful.
And now for these next moments,
Just remain here in this softness that you have created.
You are now resting beautifully.
You are breathing gently.
Let this night hold you gently.
And you are creating the conditions.
For peace.
And peace is where sleep quietly arrives.
So,
Thank you so much for spending this time with me this evening.
Allow yourself to settle down,
Rest deeply.
And may your mind grow quieter.
Each peaceful breath.
Namaste,
My friend.
