Welcome.
I'm so glad you're here.
Taking this time for you,
Even just for a few minutes,
Matters more than you might realize.
However you're arriving today,
Whether your body feels heavy,
Restless or somewhere in between,
Welcome.
There's nothing you need to change,
Nothing you need to figure out.
This is simply a space to begin listening to your body in a gentle way.
And Martha Graham once said,
The body always leads us home if we are willing to listen,
Just by noticing with kindness.
So,
Find your comfy space,
Warm and cozy,
And just feel your body soften,
Letting go.
Shoulders drop down from your ears,
Your neck relaxes,
Jaw softens.
Feel your back just easing,
Your chest and belly releasing,
Arms,
Hands and fingers resting,
Hips are loosening,
Legs,
Feet and toes letting go.
Just feel your whole body now beginning to relax.
Allow your breath to be just as it is,
Just notice the rise and the gentle fall.
And as you breathe,
You might begin to sense your body a little more clearly.
Those places that feel at ease and the places that feel a little tired or tight,
Just notice.
And if it feels natural,
Just allow your exhale to soften even more,
Like a quiet release.
Breathe in and a slow,
Easy breath out.
Just affirm to yourself,
Either silently or out loud,
I am learning to listen to my body.
I meet myself with kindness just as I am.
And just let those words echo throughout your being.
Allow your breath to settle now,
And as you rest here,
You might begin to notice the quiet presence of your body.
Just sense it from within.
And now there is a soft,
Warm awareness like a gentle glow resting around you.
You just begin to feel into it because this awareness is calm,
It's patient and it's kind.
It begins very gently to draw your attention inward.
It's just being with whatever is here.
And you might begin to notice some subtle sensations,
The weight of your body resting,
The feeling of your breath moving.
And areas that feel open or places that feel a little guarded.
But whatever you notice,
This is gentle awareness.
And this awareness will stay with you.
And as it stays,
You might begin to feel a quiet softening.
A softening where it's needed.
So if there's a place in your body that is feeling tight or tired,
Just simply allow this soft awareness to meet it.
It's like a warm presence resting beside it.
No pressure,
No expectation,
Just a quiet companionship.
You're not here to make anything happen.
You're simply here to listen.
To be with yourself.
And sometimes that alone is enough.
And you might notice more space,
A sense of being and feel less alone in your body.
Let's just rest here for a few quiet moments held in your gentle awareness.
And as you begin to notice your breath again,
Just take a moment to check in,
Not with your thoughts,
But with your body.
What is it quietly asking for today?
Is it rest,
Movement,
Stillness,
Spaciousness?
There's no need to answer right away.
Just listening is enough.
So as you move through your day,
You might simply return to this from time to time,
Pausing just for a breath or two.
And just ask yourself,
What does my body need right now?
And if it's possible,
Respond in a small,
Kind way.
It could simply be stretching your shoulders,
Taking a short rest,
Slowing your pace.
And just a little of these small acts can really create meaningful shifts.
So take one more gentle breath in,
And a slow,
Soft breath out.
Breathe in,
And just extend your exhale,
Breathing out.
And just for a moment,
Acknowledge your body,
For everything it carries,
For everything it does,
Often without you even noticing.
And just offer it a quiet thank you.
So you've already begun by listening.
So just carry this with you,
A softer awareness,
A kinder way of being with yourself.
And be gentle with your beautiful body.
Namaste,
My friend.
Namaste.
