Hello and welcome.
My name is Amanda and I'm a certified EFT practitioner.
In this session,
We'll be using emotional freedom techniques,
Also known as EFT or tapping,
To gently support relief around knee pain.
EFT involves tapping on specific meridian points on the body while bringing mindful attention to what we're experiencing.
This can help regulate the nervous system and reduce stress responses that can contribute to physical discomfort.
Today we'll focus primarily on physical sensation.
We won't intentionally explore deeper emotional memories in this session,
Though emotions connected to the pain may naturally shift as the body relaxes.
This session is for self-regulation and support and it does not replace medical care.
Today we'll be using the EFT basic recipe.
I'll gently guide you through the tapping sequence step by step.
Please remember I am simply the facilitator.
You are your own healer.
The power is within you and your body is a powerful friend.
Because this is a pre-recorded session,
I will be keeping the language straightforward.
During live EFT sessions with one-on-one,
I have more flexibility to use a variety of reminder phrases and move based on the client in front of me.
Also,
You are always welcome to refine the wording to match your specific pain location or whatever it is you are tapping on of course.
The more specific you are though,
Whether it's for this example right knee,
Left knee,
Inside of the knee,
Sharp pain,
Dull pain,
Stiffness,
Throbbing,
Tightness,
The more targeted and effective the results can be when you're more specific.
Okay,
So before we begin,
We're going to measure your SUDS level.
SUDS stands for Subjective Unit of Distress Scale and it's how we measure progress during EFT.
So on a scale from 0 to 10,
Please say out loud your current pain level.
0 means no pain,
10 means extreme pain.
Take a moment and choose your number now please.
We'll begin by tapping on the karate chop point while repeating the setup statement three times.
The karate chop point is the fleshy outer edge of your hand between your wrist and your pinky finger,
The side you would use in a gentle karate chop.
So tap this area gently,
The karate chop point with four fingers,
Three fingers of your opposite hand,
Whatever feels comfortable,
And then go ahead and repeat the following reminder phrase three times after me.
Even though I have this pain and discomfort in my right knee,
I deeply and completely love and accept myself.
If that wording doesn't resonate with you,
You can also say I am open to learning how to love and accept myself.
We're going to say it two more times.
Even though I have this pain and discomfort in my right knee,
I deeply and completely love and accept myself.

We're going to go ahead and begin our first round of tapping as we say the reminder phrase.
The reminder phrase is this pain and discomfort in my right knee.
Tap gently on each point as you repeat the reminder phrase.
Go ahead and tap with,
I use two fingers on most of the points,
But go ahead and do what feels good for you.
Eyebrow,
At the beginning of either eyebrow near the bridge of the nose along that bone,
This pain and discomfort in my right knee.
The side of eye at the corner of either eye along the bone,
The outer corner,
This pain and discomfort in my right knee.
Under the eye on the bone directly beneath either eye,
This pain and discomfort in my right knee.
Under the nose between the bottom of your nose and your upper lip,
This pain and discomfort in my right knee.
The chin in the crease between your lower lip and chin,
This pain and discomfort in my right knee.
The collarbone just below either collarbone,
Slightly toward the center of your chest,
Below that knob like bone.
This pain and discomfort in my right knee.
Under the arm about four inches below your armpit,
This pain and discomfort in my right knee.
The thymus sternum in the center of your chest along the sternum,
This pain and discomfort in my right knee.
The base of your neck where your shoulders meet,
This pain and discomfort in my right knee.
The top of the head at the crown right before the little crease,
This pain and discomfort in my right knee.
Take a deep breath,
Now we'll tap on the nine gamut point.
This point I would tap with three fingers.
This is on the back of your hand between the knuckles of your ring finger and your pinky finger on the hand.
So continue tapping while we move through this sequence.
Go ahead and close your eyes.
Open your eyes.
Look down hard to the right.
Look down hard to the left.
Keep tapping on that point and roll your eyes slowly clockwise.
Now roll your eyes slowly counterclockwise.
Go ahead and hum a brief portion of a familiar song such as happy birthday.
And then immediately after say one two three four five and hum that same song again briefly.
Once you've done that,
Go ahead and take another deep breath in the nose,
Out the mouth if you'd like.
We're going to move on to our second round of tapping with the continued reminder phrase.

The eyebrow along the bone in the front of the eyebrow,
This pain and discomfort in my right knee.
The outer eye along the bone,
This pain and discomfort in my right knee.
Under the eye along the bone,
This pain and discomfort in my right knee.
Under the nose,
This pain and discomfort in my right knee.
The chin,
This pain and discomfort in my right knee.
The collarbone right below the knob part of your collarbone,
This pain and discomfort in my right knee.
Under the arm about four inches below the armpit,
This pain and discomfort in my right knee.
The base of the neck where the shoulders meet,
This pain and discomfort in my right knee.
The top of head right before the little crease that goes down,
This pain and discomfort in my right knee.
Take a slow deep breath with me.
Now,
Please pause and take a moment to notice any shifts and go ahead and reassess your SUDS level on a scale from zero to 10.
Where is your knee pain now?
No expectations,
Just noticing,
Noticing any shifts.
I am going to do an additional optional round for anyone who would like to continue.
The reminder phrase will be this remaining knee discomfort.
We're going to tap through all the meridian points one more time.
If you'd like to continue,
Go ahead and tap on the eyebrow point along the bone in the beginning of the eyebrow,
This remaining knee discomfort.
The side of eye along the bone,
This remaining knee discomfort.
Under the eye along the bone,
This remaining knee discomfort.
Under the nose,
This remaining knee discomfort.
The chin,
This remaining knee discomfort.
The collarbone right below the knob,

Take a nice deep breath.
Recheck your SUDS level.
Notice what has shifted.
If any other aspects came up,
Tightness,
Frustration,
Fear,
Resistance,
Or any emotional tension,
Feel free to tap specifically on those.
Again,
The more specific you are,
The more effective this work can be.
