Hello again,
Welcome.
This meditation is called What are you seeking?
What are you seeking is an interesting question.
What are you actually seeking in life?
Perhaps it's happiness.
Peace.
Security.
Love Connection Recognition.
Success.
Financial freedom.
A better relationship,
Better health.
Or simply a different future.
There may be many things one seeks,
But underneath almost everything one seeks is a common feeling.
Something is missing,
I need more,
Or I desire more.
Something is missing from my life.
I believe there are areas in my life that can be approved upon.
And perhaps beneath this sense of lack,
There is also a quieter feeling.
But somehow I'm not quite enough.
That something about me is inadequate.
Not successful enough,
Not secure enough.
Not accomplished enough,
Not complete enough.
And because this belief in needing more is perceived as real,
Seeking more seems completely natural.
One believes that something needs to be found or gained,
Achieved,
Experienced or changed.
And this sense comes from a deep-rooted conditioned sense of lack.
This feeling that more is desired or required.
This seems very real because it is seen as something directly obtainable and personal.
And is part of the human drive to improve oneself.
So the belief is something is missing,
And it is missing from me,
From my circumstances.
From my current achievements and from where I am now.
So naturally one looks outward for its resolution.
When I have found this,
I'll be more secure.
When this changes,
I'll be happier.
When I become that,
I feel that I have accomplished one of my desires.
When I achieve what I want,
I will have what I am seeking.
Now in conjunction with this drive,
Underneath all of this momentum,
Is a very familiar assumption.
I'm a person living in a world.
There is a me.
And there is a world in which I engage.
Life is happening around me and to me.
And I must react to it and be ready for what may happen.
And through effort,
I can change my circumstances,
Change myself.
And achieve what I desire.
I can work harder,
I can become more successful.
I can acquire more,
I can create a better future.
And from this perspective,
Seeking seems entirely reasonable.
There is a me,
There is a world.
Something is missing.
And through effort I can change my circumstances,
Change myself.
And achieve what I desire.
And now,
What if the premise that there is a separate me living in a world is itself worth looking at a little more closely.
What if the belief that I am living in a separate world is part of what creates the sense of separation.
From what is being felt as missing.
So before asking what you are seeking,
Can you look more closely at who it is that believes there is something to seek?
What is it that you believe you will find when you finally get what you are seeking?
What do you imagine it will give you?
Peace,
Fulfilment.
Satisfaction a sense of being enough.
And if that is what you're really seeking,
Could it be that you are looking for something that,
Up until now,
Have not been aware is already present.
Something already here.
But overlooked.
Because attention is continually directed toward something else.
And what if?
What you have been seeking is not something to find.
Pursue Achieve or become.
But something to quietly recognise within.
When you give yourself permission to allow the need to improve,
To find something more,
To be still.
Still long enough to recognize what is timelessly present.
Behind all desires.
But behind all conditioned beliefs.
And all outer movements.
As a clear seeing,
As a deeper presence.
The unmoving background behind all experiences.
Achievements Sensations and points of view.
One's silent.
Inseparable.
And all-inclusive awareness.
One's fundamental nature.
