So welcome everyone.

So today I invite you into a space of gentle compassion for our shared human experience of imperfection.

Very often we find ourselves caught in a familiar cycle,

Making the same mistakes,

Falling into the same old patterns,

Getting angry,

Frustrated with ourselves,

Maybe guilt,

Shame,

Anger that arises.

And then we wonder why we can't seem to break free,

Why the lessons we thought we learned keep appearing again and again.

Now let's explore a different perspective today.

One that views our imperfections not as failings to be overcome,

But maybe just as our natural expressions of being human in an imperfect world.

It invites us to step back from harsh judgments of the ego and view ourselves through the more compassionate lens of the soul.

In my own personal journey,

I have realized for myself that true healing doesn't come from perfecting ourselves.

It comes from embracing our wholeness,

Including those parts of us that stumble,

That forget,

And that make mistakes.

So let's begin this journey of seeing ourselves with love and kindness.

So find a comfortable position where your body feels supported.

You could be sitting up,

You could be lying down.

And take a moment to adjust whatever is needed for you to feel more relaxed,

Honoring what feels right for you in this moment.

Now if it feels comfortable for you,

You can either close your eyes or simply soften your gaze.

Take a deep breath in through your nose and release it fully through your mouth.

And we'll do this again.

Take a deep breath in and exhale completely.

Allow your breathing now to find its natural rhythm.

There is no need to control or change anything.

As you're breathing now,

You're coming back to your body.

You may notice thoughts,

You may notice sensations,

You may notice sounds.

All of that is okay.

Just be the one noticing.

Watch,

Observe,

Coming back to your body,

Coming back to your now.

Now settling into the space,

Settling into your body,

Settling into the now.

Bring to mind now a pattern or a mistake that you find yourself repeating.

Something that brings up frustration,

Disappointment,

Or even judgment toward yourself.

Perhaps it's the way you react when you get triggered,

A habit you keep returning to,

Despite your intentions.

Words you regret speaking or something else that you continue to avoid.

Whatever it is,

Just let it come to your awareness now.

Not to change,

Not to fix,

But simply to acknowledge its presence in your life.

I also want you to notice any feelings that arise as you hold this pattern in your awareness.

Perhaps there is frustration.

Why am I still doing this?

Perhaps there is guilt or shame.

Perhaps there is anger at yourself,

Maybe other people,

Maybe circumstances.

In this space,

Whatever emotions are present,

Just allow them to be there as they too are part of your life.

Part of being human,

Part of being here.

Now let's gently explore the cycle that often unfolds around our imperfections.

We make a mistake or fall into an old pattern and that is followed by self-judgment.

The critical voice telling us we should be beyond this.

The frustration,

The guilt,

The shame,

Which often leads to more tension,

Shutting down reactivity and the cycle often continues.

Can you see this cycle in your own experience now?

Whatever you are aware of right now has come up for a reason.

Now I invite you,

Imagine stepping back from this cycle as if you could witness yourself from a wider,

More spacious awareness.

Even though this cycle is a cycle,

This cycle is there,

Even though this pattern is there,

I want to shift it but I can't.

I keep repeating it and then there is judgment.

This is happening again and again and again.

I see the pattern,

I see the intention to let it go,

I see the frustration around not being able to shift it.

Let's step back from all of this now.

Imagine now viewing yourself not through the eyes of the critic,

The ego that demands perfection but through the eyes of the soul that understands the journey of being human.

From this perspective,

From this expanded awareness,

See yourself as who you truly are,

A soul,

A being,

Learning through your experiences,

Navigating an imperfect world with a clear purpose.

With the tools and awareness available to you in each moment.

Watch.

Now from this more compassionate viewpoint,

Can we now see how these mistakes,

Patterns might be serving you in some way?

Perhaps they've been attempts to protect yourself,

They are subconscious ways of meeting needs that were not otherwise met at some point in your life.

Maybe responses to pain that has not yet been acknowledged or simply you doing your best with the awareness that you had at the time.

Now consider for a moment that your imperfections might not be obstacles to your growth but essential parts of your journey.

Each time a pattern repeats,

It brings another opportunity to understand yourself deeper.

With each mistake,

There is a seed of greater awareness.

What if this is exactly how your journey is supposed to unfold?

What if this is still in divine order?

Now let's widen our awareness a little bit more to recognize that these cycles of imperfection,

Struggle and growth are not unique to you.

They're part of the shared human experience.

Every person that you meet is on their own unique journey,

Making their own mistakes,

Feeling their own frustration and trying to find their way as best as they can.

This understanding doesn't excuse harmful behavior but it helps us hold our humanity with compassion.

Now just to explore bringing a shift in our own beliefs,

In our own awareness,

Let's silently repeat these phrases allowing them to drop and go wherever they need to go.

I am imperfect as all humans are imperfect.

My mistakes are part of my journey,

Not separate from it.

I can be kind to myself even as I'm learning and growing.

Now with this expanded awareness,

Bring your attention back to the present moment.

To the specific pattern of the mistake that you identified earlier.

And with this wider,

More compassionate perspective,

Can you now bring kindness to this part of your experience?

Not a kindness that ignores or denies what needs to change but one that understands the reality of being human that recognizes how hard we all try and how deeply we all wish to be free from suffering and how we all do our best we can with what we know in each moment.

Imagine what might shift for you if next time you notice this pattern arising you meet it first with kindness rather than judgment.

How might my experience change if my response to my imperfections is compassion rather than criticism?

What possibilities might open for me?

When I hold all my imperfect parts gently.

Now as we begin to close this practice I invite you to consider that the lens through which we view ourselves others and the world profoundly shapes our experience.

The ego's lens focuses on judgment comparison fixing and perfection and the soul's lens offers understanding connection and acceptance.

There is no right or wrong but in every moment we can make a choice of suffering or peace.

In the days ahead you might explore what shifts for you when you consciously choose to view yourself others and situations through the lens of the soul with the understanding that we are all imperfect beings just here on a journey of learning and growth.

Now as we prepare to end this meditation take a few moments to notice how your body feels now.

Maybe there is a softening a shift or a greater sense of spaciousness.

Begin now to breathe breathe deeply bringing gentle movement back to your fingers then to your toes feel the surface beneath you supporting you exactly as you are and when you're ready you can slowly open your eyes carrying the spirit of kindness and the lens of the soul with you.

The path of embracing our imperfections is not always easy we live in a world that often rewards the appearance of perfection and overlooks the beauty and wisdom in our humanness.

Each time we choose to view ourselves through the compassionate lens of the soul rather than the critical lens of the ego we create a little bit more space space for growth space for connection and space for peace.

Not the peace that comes from being perfect but from being whole.

So thank you very much for joining me in this practice of embracing our shared beautiful and imperfect human experience.

Now may you walk with kindness for yourself and for others.

And for all other beings.

Thank you very much for joining me and namaste.
