
Finding Balance - A Guided Practice
Sometimes stress can accumulate in our day-to-day lives, which can throw our nervous systems out of balance. Join me for this guided practice where I use imagery, Reiki, and Craniosacral techniques to assist your body in realigning itself back to a more centered space. This practice can help to reduce anxiety and increase emotional support for your body and mind.

Hi,
Thank you so much for joining me today.
We're going to be doing a session to balance our nervous systems.
When our nervous systems are balanced and healthy,
It helps decrease feelings of panic or anxiety.
It also helps us with our breathing.
And when it's regulating optimally,
It helps us to slow down and make better choices for ourselves.
Today during this session,
I will be using a combination of cranial sacral dialogue,
Reiki and breathwork to help guide us through this practice.
And although each person is different in what their needs are,
This particular session is able to approach each person at an individual level.
As I guide us through this practice,
Our body always wants to find center.
And so as I guide us during this session,
Your body will naturally align to what's most healthy for you as an individual.
When working with myself and others,
I have found that it's most helpful to be in a lying down position so that the nervous system isn't fighting gravity.
So what I'll have you do now before beginning this session is to find a comfortable position in which to lie down,
Make sure that you are fully supported underneath your knees and your head or neck if you need additional support in that way.
And once you're ready in that position,
Let's begin this session.
Let's begin now by taking a deep breath in,
Inhaling your breath,
Imagining it move from your feet up through your legs,
Your back to the top of your head.
And exhaling that breath back through your chest,
Your stomach,
Your legs and out your feet again.
Now place one hand gently on your tummy and the other hand gently on your chest.
And take a deep breath in,
Filling up the breath so that it moves the hand that's on your tummy.
And when you exhale,
Imagine moving the hand that's on your chest and do this breath once more.
Now when you are ready,
I'm going to use a particular word and when I say that word,
See what color comes forward to represent the energy of that word.
Restored.
We want to imagine your body and your nervous system balanced and restored back to center.
What color appears for you now with that word restored?
Allow it to come forward and surround you completely.
In your mind you can see the color of the word restored and the feeling of balance it carries completely surrounding your body and holding it in this space in this time now.
Allow the color to move in and around,
Filling you with its light and with its feeling of balance.
Imagine that energetically I am seated to your right,
That I am present with you now and I place my right hand gently underneath your low back.
And I place my left hand gently behind your neck and both of my hands gently hold these two points,
Connecting your cerebral spinal fluid moving up and down along your spine.
As my hands hold these two points,
Your body naturally begins to find what its natural rhythm is to feel whole and balanced.
While I hold these two points of light in your body,
Let's breathe together helping your nervous system.
Let's take a deep breath in,
Inhaling to the count of 6,
5,
4,
3,
2,
1 and hold.
And exhaling to the count of 6,
5,
4,
3,
2,
1.
Now I would like you to do this breath,
Inhaling to the count of 6 and exhaling to the count of 6 two more times on your own as I hold space for you.

And as my two hands,
The one at your low back and the one at your neck,
Hold these points for your nervous system.
You begin to see the color of light that brings restoration and balance to your nervous system.
Begin to move between these two points,
Your low back and your neck.
This color that has presented itself to you moves through your cerebral spinal fluid,
Bringing your body restoration and recovery.
You feel your nervous system begin to gently unwind itself.
You feel a gentle pulse moving through your spine.
And your body shifts and lets go of that which it does not need.
Your body begins to find its own natural rhythm,
The pace that feels best for you.
And allow yourself to notice what this healthy and well pace feels like inside your body.
And allow yourself to sit in this experience of restoration and balance for the next minute.
And as your spine,
Nervous system and cerebral spinal fluid align in this restored state,
Allow the rest of your body to begin to align to this rhythm as well,
Allowing your whole body to feel this pulse.
We will hold this now for the next minute.
And if the color of light that represents restore for you begins to change or shift in any way during the session,
Allow it to do so.
For as your body shifts,
The color sometimes changes with it.
And as your body shifts,
The color sometimes changes with it.
Allow the movement of this shift in your spine and nervous system to pulse gently until it reaches the tips of your fingers,
The tips of your toes,
The top of your head.
Feeling a rhythmic,
Gentle pulse of light.
And as we hold this pulse of light in your body,
You feel the anxiety to melt gently away.
And now imagine that as I am seated to your right,
That I begin to shift my right hand that's under your low back and bring it to the energy around your solar plexus,
To the area just below your diaphragm.
And my left hand,
Which is behind your neck,
Moves to the top of your sternum.
Now holding these two points of light that allow your breath to expand,
Opening your lungs and allowing you to breathe more deeply.
You feel your lungs and your body fill with the light of restore.
And as you hold this pulse of light in your body,
You feel the energy to melt away.
Now,
Imagine that my right hand on your diaphragm moves up to where my left hand is on the top of your sternum.
And my left hand moves up to the very top of your head.
Now holding these two points,
Connecting your breath from your sternum up to the top of your head,
Bringing this light up into the crown to bring this light,
This calm and restoration up through the rest of your body.
And as you hold this pulse of light in your body,
You feel the energy to melt away.
Now,
Imagine that I've shifted and moved to the top of your head.
And both my right hand and my left hand are gently cupping underneath your head,
Holding it in this place of peace and calm,
Allowing your spine to fully integrate,
To become fully restored.
And we hold these points now for one minute.
Now,
Imagine that I move down to your feet.
And I'm seated at your feet and my right hand gently cups the heel of your left foot.
And my left hand gently cups the heel of your right foot.
Holding these two points,
Connecting the pulse of your cerebral spinal fluid from the top of your head down to your sacrum,
With the pulse of it moving all the way down to your feet.
With the light of restoration and balance now moving completely through your body,
We hold this point now for a minute.
And we hold this point now for a minute.
I gently move my hands away from your feet and energetically begin to shift myself from the space that is around you.
And in these next two minutes,
Allow your body to gently integrate all the shifts,
All the light,
And connect all these points,
Allowing your body to find its balanced,
Natural rhythm.
And we hold this point now for a minute.
And we hold this point now for a minute.
Now take a deep breath in,
Inhaling fully to the top of your head and exhaling completely back down through your feet.
Take another deep breath in,
And as you exhale,
You become fully present to this moment,
To this time now,
Coming back to the present,
To the space that you are in.
Thank you so much for joining me in this guided practice today to align your nervous system to its most natural rhythm for you.
And remember,
You can access this same practice wherever you are.
If you feel thrown out of alignment for some reason throughout your day,
You can always come back to this centered space by asking the color that was with you,
That represents restore,
To surround you and surround your nervous system with the light that we worked with today.
All you have to do is call on it to be present for you,
And it will bring your nervous system back into this same space that we are in now,
Calm and balanced.
