Transcript

This meditation has been created to inspire patience and gratitude.

Welcome and thank you for being here.

Let's begin.

Find a comfortable position away from too much noise and distraction.

You can be seated or you can be lying down.

And slow down your breathing as you close your eyes and relax.

Let go of all the tension in your shoulders.

Relax your forehead and your scalp.

Gently relax your eyeballs and allow your arms and body to fully surrender as you slowly sink into whatever surface you are on.

Take a few deep breaths in your own time and pace,

Breathing only through your nostrils.

Each breath takes you into a deeper sense of relaxation,

Disconnecting you from the outside world.

Once upon a time,

An elephant and a dog became pregnant at the same time.

Three months later,

The dog gave birth to six beautiful,

Happy puppies.

The dog was soon pregnant again giving birth to another half dozen puppies.

This pattern of pregnancy and birth continued for the next 18 months.

On the 18th month,

The dog approached the elephant and asked,

Are you sure that you are pregnant?

We see,

We became pregnant on the same date and I have since given birth three times to over a dozen puppies and they are now grown and have become big dogs.

Yet you are still pregnant.

What is going on?

The elephant replied,

There is something I want you to understand.

What I'm carrying is not a puppy,

But an elephant.

I only give birth to one elephant calf in two years.

When my baby hits the ground,

The earth feels it.

When my baby crosses the road,

Human beings stop and watch in admiration.

What I carry draws attention.

What I'm carrying is mighty and great and needs time.

The dog nodded with understanding.

The elephant continued to wait patiently until it was time to give birth.

And after two years,

The elephant finally gave birth to a magnificent elephant calf.

Allow your mind to be patient and see things from the elephant's perspective.

Your life is about to change for the better,

Starting today.

Take a moment to think of all the small miracles that have happened in your life.

Feel a deep sense of gratitude for those wonderful moments.

Relax into those moments and relive them.

Embrace the warmth,

Peace,

And joy they bring.

They are wonderful memories and more great memories are on the horizon.

Be patient and surrender to time.

Tomorrow's blessings are on their way.

Enjoy this feeling of total surrender,

Of total belief,

And total patience.

And let's gently focus on your breathing again.

Nice,

Slow,

Deep,

Calming breaths that gradually bring you back to this reality,

Feeling rejuvenated and filled with gratitude and joy.

Namaste.
