Welcome,

And thank you for joining me on this dieted meditation designed to help you regulate your nervous system by releasing some of your stress,

Your worries,

Concerns and the challenges you may be facing.

Let's begin this journey by finding a comfortable position that allows you to feel at ease.

It can be seated at your favourite chair or lying down.

Take a moment to become aware of the surface that is supporting you.

Gently and slowly sink in to that surface,

Fully submitting your body mass to gravity.

Now take in a nice deep breath through your nose and gently exhale through your nose,

Inviting your body to sink even deeper into the surface.

Let's take another deep inhale through your nose and again exhale through your nose.

Be conscious of the calm feeling in your body as you slow down your breathing,

Breathing at your own comfortable pace.

Allow your body to sink even further and deeper into the surface.

Take in another deep,

Deep breath through your nose,

This time release the breath with a deep exhale through your mouth.

Focus on relaxing your body,

Starting at the crown of your head.

Feel the tension leave,

Nice and easy,

Relaxing into the moment.

Now relax your forehead as you breathe calmly at your own pace.

Relax your eyeballs,

Your cheeks,

Your mouth and your tongue.

Let them all relax.

Now relax your right arm,

Allowing it to sink into the surface.

And then relax your left arm as it too sinks in to the surface.

Now relax your stomach and your lower back,

Your buttocks,

Your thighs and then relax your feet,

Inviting your legs to flop wherever they naturally go.

Enjoy this sensation of relaxation for a few moments,

Gently breathing at your own pace.

Allow all the thoughts to happen,

Don't resist or fight them,

Just let them come and go,

Let them be,

Submit to the moment.

Go with whatever you think or feel,

Keeping your body fully relaxed,

Gently inhaling and exhaling intentionally at your own pace.

Notice and feel the cool air entering your nostrils and the slightly warmer air leaving your nostrils.

Now let's go even deeper and begin to release our stress,

Worries and concerns.

Imagine you are standing at the water's edge of a gently flowing river on a small wooden dock.

In front of you is a small empty wooden boat.

Behind you on the dock is a white table.

That table has an open white suitcase on it.

To the right of the white suitcase is a package with all your stress neatly wrapped up.

Gently take that package and place it caringly into the suitcase.

To your left is another package with all your worries and grief carefully wrapped.

Place that package caringly into the suitcase.

Take in a deep breath and as you close the white suitcase,

Exhale.

Pick up the suitcase and sit it on the bench in the wooden boat.

Take in a nice deep breath and as you exhale,

Gently push the boat away from the dock.

The calm flow of the river slowly moves the boat away from the dock,

Carrying all your worries,

Concerns,

Stress and challenges down the river.

With a soft smile on your face,

Just watch the wooden boat fade down the river.

It keeps fading and fading as you feel calmer and calmer.

Keep watching the boat flow down the river until it fades and disappears.

Ancient Greek philosophy once claimed that no person ever steps in the same river twice,

For it's not the same river and they are not the same person.

Only new water can now flow by you.

Your stress,

Your concerns and your worries are now drifting downstream,

Never to be seen or felt again.

Take a moment to enjoy this feeling of calm and inner peace.

Hear the gentle splashes of the water,

Feel the soft breeze against your face and the ground beneath your feet.

Take in a deep breath as you turn and walk away and exhale with a smile on your face.

Ahead of you is a beautiful,

Warm,

Welcoming sunset.

You find a seat on an old rock and watch the beautiful,

Warm,

Welcoming sunset.

You feel calm and peaceful.

You close your eyes and you focus on your breathing,

Gently inhaling and exhaling at your own pace.

Your soul is at peace.

Your body is calm.

Your soul is at peace.

Your body is calm.

As you enjoy this feeling of total calm and serenity,

Slowly allow yourself to come back by very gently moving your toes,

Then move your fingers.

Gently move your head to the left and then to the right and back to the left and back centre.

Now gently stretch your entire body feeling good,

Feeling confident,

Feeling rejuvenated,

Feeling at peace,

Ready for the days and weeks to come.

Now in your own time,

Slowly sit or stand to enjoy the new day.

Namaste.
