Let's take a moment to get comfortable in our space and our surroundings.
Maybe we roll the head,
Roll the shoulders,
And then go with tension,
Tightness within the body.
On the next inhale,
Take a deep breath in.
As you exhale,
Sigh it out.
Deep inhale in.
Audible exhale,
Sigh it out.
One more deep breath.
Open the mouth,
Release the jaw,
Sigh it out.
This is a meditation for health in the mind and body.
How grateful we are that most of the healing process we experience is involuntary.
The body is designed with an immune system that is capable of defeating germs,
Diseases,
Repairing tissues,
And purifying toxins.
How wonderful it is that all of this can be done without our conscious effort and attention.
Although the body is capable of self-healing,
The mind can play an active role in the process.
If the mind is focused on sickness,
On despair,
Is depressed,
Then the body suffers.
It will be more of a challenge for the body to heal.
If the mind is focused on health,
On potential,
On what is working,
Then the physical body is supported during this period of recovery.
In this meditation,
Let us nurture the health of the mind and body.
Can we dismiss our attachments to suffering and connect to the peace within?
Let us begin.
Find yourself in a comfortable position.
If you are seated,
Place the hands on the thighs or knees.
If you are lying down,
Let the hands rest on the belly,
The other on the chest,
Or your hands extended by the sides.
Allow yourself to settle into this pose,
Sinking into a restful state.
Bring the awareness to the breath as it moves effortlessly in and out of the body.
Observe as the breath,
The energy flows through your vessel.
Using the breath creates space between the thoughts.
Allow the busy mind with its repetitive obsessive thinking to slow down.
Focus only on the flow of the breath,
Releasing any attachments to the distractions of the physical world.
Our focus draws inward,
Letting go of limitations,
Any sense of lack or separation.
Can you allow yourself to feel connected to the serenity within you?
Letting the emotions,
The need to be busy,
To be doing disappear from your presence,
Settling into the stillness of where you are.
Bring your awareness to the heart space.
In the center of your chest,
See a bright radiating white light.
With every inhale,
The light grows and expands.
And with every exhale,
The light spreads throughout the body.
Inhale the light grows.
Exhale it flows through the body.
This radiating white light heals and restores the being.
Allow the light to cleanse and purify the body.
Aid the body in removing impurities,
Toxins,
Pain and discomfort.
Witness as the light removes disease,
Sickness and agitation within the body.
Letting the light restore the physical self back to its natural healthy state.
Breathe into the lungs and feel as the chest expands.
Letting the breath bring new life to every corner of your body.
This healing white light expands beyond the confines of the physical self.
The light expands in front of you and behind you,
Above you,
Above you and below you.
Creating an auric field of healing white light energy emanating from the heart space.
Can the mind and body dwell in this space of healing?
If urges within you arise to distract the mind or body,
Simply acknowledge their presence.
And with the exhale release them.
Ease deeper into this moment.
The light grows beyond your being and expresses outward.
Witness as your inner light engulfs your home,
Your place of work.
Watch as it expands to loved ones and your neighbors.
The light expands throughout your community and to the rest of the world.
May all sentient beings know the healing power of your divine light.
Let yourself elevate to a higher place.
Remove any You Slowly taking deeper breaths back into the body.
Bringing your awareness to the flow of the breath as the belly rises and falls.
We connect to the space around you.
Hold a moment of gratitude for your practice,
For the health of your mind and body.
Give yourself love and appreciation.
When you are ready,
Open your eyes.
The light within me honors the light within you.
Namaste.
