Hello my friends!
Welcome back to Your Journey Yoga.
My name is Natalia and today we have a guided meditation for leaning into trust.
You can do this practice lying down or seated.
Find whatever support you would like to have with you,
Whether that's a chair,
A block,
A pillow,
Or a blanket,
Maybe even a candle.
And as you settle in,
We'll begin.
Whatever shape you're arriving into,
Allow yourself to unfurl mentally,
Physically,
By utilizing the breath.
Taking big full inhales through your nose.
Letting your exhales be long and audible.
Noticing how it feels to gather in air and to release it.
Breathing as big and full as feels good for you.
And just allow yourself to make any adjustments that will allow you to feel more supported here.
And let those adjustments serve your stillness.
Let the body begin to relax into the space and the shape that you are in.
And if after you adjust,
There's still a desire to fidget and move,
Just notice that.
Acknowledge it and see if you can trust in the stillness and disengage from the desire to move.
Notice the way the body subtly relaxes,
Becomes more heavy when you allow it to become still.
Letting the muscles of the body soften.
Feeling the weight of your bones.
Feeling the contact between the air and your skin.
Feeling the contact of your inhales and exhales in your nose,
On the top of your lip.
The way the breath feels as it travels in through your throat into your ribcage.
Moving through your torso.
Gently expanding and contracting your belly.
If having a bigger,
More expansive breath feels supportive for your practice,
Imagine breathing into parts of the body that haven't been breathed into before.
That could be any part of the body that feels particularly tense,
Closed off.
Any gripping or holding in the body could use the medicine of breath.
So direct it there.
And trust that the breath knows where to go and the breath knows what to do.
A beautiful thing about the breath as an ally for presence and trust is it's partially subconscious and conscious.
We don't have to think about breathing throughout the day.
We just do.
But if we want to bring more presence and conscious awareness to our experience,
We can choose to pay more attention to it.
So trust in what feels most supportive for you with the breath in this moment.
Whether that's bringing more conscious awareness to it,
Or letting it flow in its most natural state.
Remember that there is no right or wrong way to do this practice.
Lean into your own intuitive process.
Trust that if you decide to be more conscious with your breath,
That's what you need right now.
Or if you decide to surrender the breath to its natural state,
Trust that that is what you need right now.
And if you decide to switch it up in the practice,
Trust that as well.
There's nothing to overthink here.
All we're doing is breathing,
Being,
And noticing.
How does it feel to bring trust into a simple decision like this?
As you continue to settle into your beingness,
Just notice what arises physically,
Notice what arises mentally,
Emotionally.
Sometimes we resist the practice of presence and stillness by overthinking or ruminating.
Sometimes we resist it by clenching in the body or moving around.
What if you just trusted the silence and the stillness?
What if the answers aren't in digging around more in the mind?
What if the answer isn't in trying harder?
What if the answer lies in stillness,
In the act of listening and observing?
If you notice that it feels particularly challenging to slow down physically,
Mentally,
That's okay.
This is a practice.
So if you don't feel like this practice is working right now,
Trust that you can see your way through this.
That you can sit for a few more minutes even if it feels uncomfortable,
Even if it feels like you're unsure of the result.
You chose to sit down for this allotted time,
So trust in that choice even if it feels uncomfortable right now.
So often when we experience high levels of confusion or anxiety or worry,
It's because we're not trusting in our ability to navigate what is right before us or what lies ahead.
We're lacking trust in ourselves.
We're lacking trust in our ability to gain what we need to gain from each moment exactly as it is.
The truth of the matter is that there's no way to know exactly how everything is going to pan out.
We might get inklings,
Intuitions,
But the small details of the unfolding of our lives is ultimately unknown and that can feel scary.
But you've navigated your life and all of its challenges,
All of its barriers and ups and downs thus far.
And you're here in this practice choosing to lean into trust.
So take a moment to appreciate that.
Take a moment to remember your strength.
Everything you need truly is already within you.
You just might not see that yet.
Perhaps the tools you're looking for you haven't awakened to within yourself and that's okay.
The beautiful part of our journey as humans is we are constantly rediscovering new things about ourselves.
We're at ample opportunity to learn and grow all the time.
So it's okay that you don't have everything figured out.
That's actually part of the gift.
You've made it through hard things before.
You will again.
If you've chosen this practice because you find that you lack trust in others,
The invitation is to consider how much you trust yourself.
It's not about what other people do or don't do.
It is about trusting your ability to navigate whatever happens no matter what other people do or don't do.
Come back into resonance with your highest self.
The part of you that already knows how to navigate.
The part of you that already knows that you will make it through.
Leaning into trust and coming into resonance with our highest selves is just a practice of remembering.
So give yourself the remainder of this time to breathe,
To trust the stillness,
To listen and anchor into your ability to observe,
To anchor into the magic of your beingness.
If tension has come up for you physically,
Mentally or emotionally,
Give yourself permission to soften,
To remember,
To trust.
Trust what each moment is for you even if it is discomfort.
Wherever your awareness is,
You can allow it to condense down into three big,
Full breaths.
Beginning to wake the body up with some really small,
Slow,
Gentle movement.
Maybe allowing the eyelids to slowly flicker open as you reorient visually to your space.
If it feels challenging to trust yourself,
One of the most powerful ways I have found to rebuild self-trust is by continuing to show up for oneself in small ways every single day.
It doesn't have to be a big gesture,
Big project or anything of that sort.
It can be just putting in place small things that you feel you can accomplish for yourself every day.
Waking up and drinking a glass of water,
Waking up and journaling or meditating.
Or committing to going for a walk after dinner.
Whatever you feel capable of being consistent with,
Continue to show up for that.
Build your sense of trust from the inside out and watch how much more easily you allow life to unfold.
I'm so glad you're here and I'm so glad you are choosing you.
I've got your back and so do you.
I'll see you in the next practice.
Namaste.
