There’s a moment many of us recognize. Right before you spoke. Right before you moved. Right before you said yes to something that mattered. And then… you almost didn’t. This meditation meets the quiet hesitation that shows up when fear delays what you want — not loudly, but subtly, as waiting, caution, or second-guessing. This isn’t about pushing yourself forward. It’s about noticing the moment you pull back — and staying present long enough to choose. Come sit with the edge of that moment.

There's a moment many of us know well.

The moment right before you speak and don't.

The moment right before you move and hesitate.

The moment when something matters to you,

But your body quietly pulls back.

If you've ever felt that pause,

That holding back,

That sense of almost,

This practice is for you.

If there's any part of you that's been holding itself up,

See if it can rest,

Even a little.

Know that whatever is underneath you,

Do the work of holding.

You don't have to assist.

Most people think of fear as a thought,

Something the mind does,

But fear often shows up first somewhere else,

In the chest,

In the stomach,

In the subtle tightening that says,

Not yet,

Not yet,

Wait,

Be careful.

The mind tries to understand fear,

It analyzes it,

It questions it,

It tries to reason its way past it,

But the nervous system knows fear differently.

The nervous system doesn't work with words,

It works with sensation,

With memory,

And with intensity.

It remembers moments when slowing down was wise,

When holding back kept you intact,

When caution wasn't fear,

It was intelligence.

So,

When hesitation shows up now,

It isn't asking whether the situation is the same,

It's responding to how something feels,

And nothing has gone wrong because that response stayed.

It stayed because it once worked.

For now,

There's nothing to fix,

Nothing to push through or decide.

For the next few minutes,

Nothing needs your attention.

Just notice this.

Fear can be present without being in charge.

Fear is information,

Not instruction.

One can be heard,

The other doesn't have to be obeyed.

You get to choose which one you follow.

May your mind,

Body,

And spirit be abundant with peace,

And may your path be guided by discernment today and every day.

Until next time,

Namaste.
