This grounding practice is best practiced sitting upright. In this loving practice we meditate into the Root Chakra, Muladhara, which helps us soften into who we authentically are, creating an awareness of our roots. We then use our breath to move energy up the spine and spread this love across the body as a whole. This is a reminder that we are safe and so held by this Earth. Much love.

Hey friends,

Welcome to this grounding energy meditation.

We'll begin by finding a comfortable seat,

Sitting tall,

And then kind of moving into this space.

You can lean your weight into one sit bone,

Switching side to side,

And then finally settling.

Feeling the earth beneath you here as if you are directly growing up and away from it,

Sprouting into the sky.

As you close the eyes,

Begin to soften through the brows and the forehead,

Softening at the creases of the eyes and the tops of your cheeks,

And finally allowing some space between your teeth and your lips as you release the jaw.

Begin to focus your breath as it moves in and out of the nose,

Encouraging full deep breaths,

Finally going for that big expansion in both the rib cage and the belly,

The lower abdomen,

Letting each breath out soften you.

Starting to draw your awareness towards the very base of your spine,

Kind of where your sit bones meet the earth.

Our very first chakra,

Our root chakra,

Muladhara,

Lies right at the very base of our spine.

Those translate to energy wheel,

The word chakra.

So you can picture kind of this spinning orb of energy at that very base of your spine.

The color of this root chakra is seen as red.

So you might picture this glowing red orb right where your sit bones meet the earth,

Right at the base of the tailbone.

As you find your next breath in,

Begin to watch the breath travel all the way up to the very crown of your head as you inhale,

Going all the way up the vertebrae.

As you breathe out,

Gently send the breath back down the spine,

All the way to the tailbone.

And again,

Your breath in takes the breath all the way up to the crown of the head as you breathe in,

Maybe sit a little taller.

Breath out,

Softly let the breath travel back down the vertebrae to the base of the spine.

Really allowing yourself to experience the journey of the breath rising up the spine and back down,

Rather than focusing on that end result of getting to the crown of head and back down.

Letting the breath move through you.

Feeling the earth literally supporting you and carrying you here.

The earth supports us and carries us forward in anything we choose to do,

Anywhere we choose to go.

You may start to picture this bright light being breathed into the whole body,

Coming in through the nose and glowing down into the heart,

The ribs,

Even all the way down to the hips,

The knees and the toes,

Out to the elbows and the fingertips.

Knowing that you've always had this light,

This support and this power within you.

Sometimes we just need a little reminder.

Moving softly,

Mindfully,

Begin to draw one hand over the heart space,

Right at the chest and the other hand just over top.

Pressing the heart up into the hands and the hands down into the heart as you feel the warmth that lies here at your heartbeat.

Feeling just how alive you are in this moment and knowing that this day is completely up to you.

That no one can steal your energy and your power unless you allow them to.

Knowing that by power I mean the power of love for yourself and for everyone around you,

Your love for those that bring us challenge.

Meeting that challenge with kindness.

It's more about the power of love rather than the love of power.

I thank you so much for sharing this practice and this meditation with me.

Namaste.
