A gentle mediation to lift the mind out of spiraling negative navigation towards coming to balance and find appreciation in the practice of being familiar with depression but not engulfed by it. Join me as often as you feel the thoughts get heavy, keep coming back to practice, and soon you'll be offering these same words to yourself without the need for my voice. I wish you well.

Welcome to this meditation to aid in resting in your depressive thoughts.

Make it a starting and a comfortable position.

You can start lying down or resting your back against a wall.

Some place that you can be comfortable,

Rested.

You can relax any sense of effort in the body.

Check in that there's no fabric bunched up underneath you to distract you,

Misalignments in the body.

See if you can invite the body to get heavy.

Let your eyes become soft,

Just resting down into their sockets.

Your eyelids draped over top.

Your breath can be soft and natural.

Check in that you're not holding any place.

Make sure it's not drawing in.

Let it be loose and soft.

Your breath be natural and easy.

Without forcing it,

See if you can let your stomach expand,

Fall back with every inhale and exhale.

Give yourself the opportunity to focus inwards.

Just be present with the energy center of your body.

Space located directly in the middle of your chest,

Just a couple inches inward.

Breathing softly and staying present with that energy center.

In this moment,

Allow yourself to feel whatever small sense of appreciation you can feel.

Feel this appreciation towards yourself for just being here right now,

For just showing up for this moment.

Even in times when you might be experiencing depression,

Anxiety,

Or any negative sort of sensation.

There's no small feat of making the time to be here.

It's worthy of you feeling appreciation towards yourself for it.

Even if you can only feel the slightest bit of thankfulness to yourself,

Let that be enough.

Become open,

Willing,

And ready to experience a shift of some kind.

The beauty of this practice is that it can bring you to a neutral state,

That stage where you're not depressed,

You're not happy,

You just are.

You're just allowing yourself to enter into that state.

Let go of any judgments towards yourself,

Any internal conversation,

Let go of the judgment of the world around you.

Just letting whatever be,

Be.

And as you do this,

Let your breath just fall into depth.

In this moment,

Be willing,

Open,

And ready to accept how you feel.

So that you feel it as it is,

Without trying to alter or change anything.

Because when you accept it,

It automatically shifts into a state of simply being.

No longer a bad thing,

Or a good thing.

It just is.

Remember,

Keep focusing on that energy center,

Just at the center of your chest,

Breathing softly and gently.

And when those thoughts pop up as they will,

See if you can just recognize them,

And then let them travel on.

Return back to the center of your chest,

Back onto the movement of your breath.

Just enabling you to enter into the moment,

To be present with what's in this moment.

Let there be peace in whatever it is that you're feeling right now,

Because you're worthy of feeling that peace.

Give yourself that gift.

And then welcome any positive feelings that you might feel.

You don't have to feel any of them.

But just be welcoming and open to receiving them,

Not putting up any walls against that positive sensation.

Just giving them an open doormat.

And cracking the door open so that we have the invitation to creep in.

Maybe even suggesting or saying to yourself,

I'm willing to open myself to feeling and receiving love.

To being willing to accept love.

You don't have to change anything.

You don't even have to feel any of this.

Just be willing to relax and breathe and just have the opportunity of openness.

Take a long,

Deep breath.

Let your stomach expand completely.

And then blow the air out your mouth.

Let the stomach contract.

Notice your body feeling a little bit more alive.

And then deepen on the next inhale.

Really send the air out your mouth.

Perhaps even feeling more grateful towards yourself just for taking this time.

Feeling a little more grateful for yourself than you might have been when you first started this.

And stay here as long as you need.

When you do feel many,

You can start to let those breaths seep into the body and the full limbs and the joints and the muscles.

Let the air tingle between the fingers.

Explore the spaces between the toes.

Let your body give you a little indication on what it would like to do to wake up.

You're eventually coming back into this container.

You have the opportunity of residing.

Be curious about all the nooks and creams.

Eventually you'll bring your awareness back to the room around you.

The space that you're in.

Give yourself one last opportunity.

To be grateful for the time that you just took to be in your body,

In your mind,

And connecting them together.

I'm so honored for your presence.

I'm honored by your capacity to be honest in everything that you choose to do.

You follow in your light and your divine.

You follow in a healthy state.
