Hello,
You're with Andrew at Yogi Moksha.
This is a short,
Breath-based meditation that incorporates the sound of the gong.
The intention of this meditation is to provide an opportunity to refocus when limited time is available.
We start with breath to create focus,
To trigger the parasympathetic nervous system,
And relax,
Preparing us to receive 10 minutes or so of uninterrupted gong.
In yogic philosophy,
It is believed we comprise five layers or bodies from the physical to the increasingly subtle.
The sound of the gong is understood to particularly resonate with the third layer and assist the meditation practitioner to cross a bridge to the fourth and fifth layers where the deepest meditative experiences are said to exist.
We will move towards relaxed focus with the detached perspective that invites insight.
So let's get comfortable.
Lying down or seated as you prefer in a space where you won't be interrupted for the next 15-20 minutes.
Headphones will always improve the gong experience but aren't essential.
Your eyes can be closed or open as you prefer.
If your eyes are open,
Fix a soft gaze on the floor,
Wall or ceiling.
And once you are settled,
Start to become aware of the breath as we inhale in through the nostrils to the throat,
Down into the lungs and exhale,
Lungs,
Throat,
Nose,
Nostrils.
Cool air in and warm air out.
Belly rising and falling as we inhale and exhale,
Inhale and exhale.
Gently bringing our awareness to the heart centre,
Opening the heart centre ready to receive the sound of the gong.
To follow the sound of the gong as it moves through our physical and subtle bodies,
Taking us gently toward the bridge that crosses into the causal body,
Into the bliss body and beyond.
Good evening.
