Today I'm going to go over how to do Nadi Shodhana,
Which means alternate nostril breathing.
So it's a fantastic pranayama,
It's a fantastic breath practice to help you calm down,
Slow down and balance the body.
So if you're feeling a bit rushed all over the place,
This is the ideal one for you.
So I'm right-handed so I'll use my right hand.
If you're left-handed,
Use whichever hand works best for you.
So take the thumb of the right hand,
It comes to your right nostril.
Index finger,
Middle finger,
Just rest between your eyebrows.
The ring finger comes to the left nostril.
So we take a couple of slow deep breaths to do nothing,
So inhaling and exhaling to relax.
We always do that at the start of our breath practice because it helps us to get into the right focus,
The right frame of mind.
So you'll close,
You'll use your ring finger to close the left nostril,
Inhale through the right nostril.
Close the right nostril.
Exhale through the legs.
And heels through the legs.
Close the left nostril and exhale through the right nostril.
You'll do that one round and you can repeat that five rounds is quite good.
Inhale right,
Exhale left.
Inhale left,
Exhale right is one round.
So doing five rounds of that.
Will help you just bring everything back into focus,
You'll feel a wee bit more balanced.
Give it a go and let me know how you get on.
