Once upon a time,
There was a little girl named Wuzzo,
Who lived on a star,
High up in the Milky Way.
She dreamed every day and every night of visiting Earth.
She would look longingly at the beautiful green hills,
Gaze at the snow-tipped mountains,
And dream of the mysteries hidden in the deep blue seas.
So one day,
Wuzzo decided to wish upon her star.
She closed her eyes and focused on her breath.
She took a deep breath in,
And a deep breath for the silence between each.
As she breathed in and out,
She imagined her body becoming heavier and heavier.
Her body came to feel so heavy that her star started to sink.
It sank like a sleepy head into a fluffy pillow,
All the way down to Earth.
When she opened her eyes,
She realized she had landed on a soft bed of moss.
She thanked her little star and put it in her pocket to save it for a rainy day.
Now she was ready to begin her adventure.
She walked around in what she believed to be a forest.
She had heard of them in stories,
But had never imagined them to be so beautiful.
She looked around at the vibrant green ferns unfurling,
The purple vines twirling,
And the birds in the sky greeting the sun with their songs.
She saw a butterfly,
Incandescent in the light.
It landed on her nose and then flew off,
Beckoning her to follow.
So she did.
She followed the butterfly as the dappled light kissed the forest floor.
She followed the butterfly until she came upon a little stream.
She sat on a log next to the water,
Then noticed that her hand had touched something sticky.
It appeared to be sap.
She knelt by the river to wash it off,
And noticed that a rainbow formed as soon as the resin from the tree met the water.
The day was warm,
And the river was cool and refreshing.
So Wizo decided to dip her toes into it.
She slowed her breathing to help keep her balance as she waded in.
She felt the cool water rushing over her feet,
Then past her calves,
Her knees,
Her hips,
Then her bellybutton,
Her fingertips,
And finally,
Her chest.
The further into the water she went,
The lighter she felt.
She allowed herself to float downstream.
As she floated,
She noticed that the sun reflecting off the water looked like stars.
This made her think of the Milky Way.
Although she was enjoying her adventure on Earth,
She also missed her home.
Wizo was so deep in her daydreams about home that she didn't realize she had floated all the way to the ocean.
The ocean was calm,
So she allowed the waves to bring her back to shore.
She heard gulls in the distance.
She must have been in the river a long time.
The sun was already setting.
The sky was flaming vibrant pink,
Deep red,
Playful orange,
And majestic purple.
She began gathering pieces of driftwood to start a fire.
The fire rose as the sun set.
Sparks floated into the night sky,
Disappearing to reveal the stars.
Wizo was having a hard time keeping her eyes open.
She touched the little star in her pocket and smiled.
What an adventure this was,
And it had only just begun.
She watched the flames flicker as the waves gently lapped against the shore.
Wizo's eyes started blinking more and more slowly as she drifted.
