Settling into posture,
Sitting in an upright and comfortable position.
Taking a moment to roll the shoulders up and back and down to keep the chest nice and open.
Feeling the body resting on the chair or cushion and the feet on the ground.
Allowing the eyes to gently gaze downwards at a point in front of you.
The intention of the practice is to bring awareness to our health and wellbeing.
Setting a motivation.
How do you feel this practice will benefit you?
Perhaps it might highlight areas of wellbeing that need attention.
Taking a moment to notice the breath entering through the nose and feeling the body.
Feeling the journey of the breath.
Using the moment by moment experience of the breath.
Counting into four or five on the in-breath.
Four or five on the out-breath.
Bringing awareness to the out-breath and noticing the sensations within the body.
Maybe we're feeling a sense of relaxation or relief.
Release.
Or another sensation.
Allowing the breath to return to its natural rhythm.
Letting go of counting.
Checking in with the mind.
So how does it feel in this moment?
Noticing any thoughts or emotions.
No need to analyse them.
Simply observing and being aware of what is being thought or felt.
It's like how we can watch clouds pass through a clear blue sky.
Our thoughts and emotions can be observed too.
And do we find them depleting,
Neutral or energising?
So does the content of the mind feel depleting,
Neutral or energising?
Noticing ourselves breathing in golden light that is healing and restorative.
This light,
It lights up the areas we associate with the mind.
Heals and restores.
Bringing attention to the body.
How does the body feel in this space and time?
Maybe it feels limber,
Or it might feel tense in places.
Noticing how the body feels from the inside.
Does the body as a whole feel depleted from energy,
Neutral or energising?
Bringing to mind the golden light once more,
And breathing it into the body.
Feeling it restore and nourish the body.
And drawing attention to the immediate environment around.
Allowing the gaze to move slowly around the room.
Not looking for anything in particular.
Simply allowing what is to be seen to meet your eyes.
How does this space feel in this moment and time?
Does it feel depleting,
Neutral or energising?
Breathing in the golden light once more,
And on the out breath inviting this healing energy to fill the space around.
Drawing attention to the sense of self,
Purpose and fulfilment.
How does it feel to be attentive to purpose and fulfilment?
This bare sense of depleting,
Neutrality,
Energising sensation.
Breathing in the golden light,
Inviting in vitality and fulfilment,
And on the out breath,
Inviting this to extend through the body and into the space around.
Letting go of the visualisations,
And simply sitting and attending to the breath.
Allowing the breath to be at its natural rhythm.
And as the practice draws to a close,
Taking time to reflect upon any learnings.
Taking a moment of gratitude,
Spending time on checking in,
On health and wellbeing.
Allowing the breath to be at its natural rhythm.
