Welcome to Work Minded.
Thanks for joining us for this Full Moon Illuminate and Release Practice.
Since we offer nervous system focused career coaching,
We love providing complementary practices to help reflect on our work and align with our purpose.
Drawing inspiration from the natural world around us is one way to do this,
And the moon is an anchor point for inspiration all across the globe.
Tapping into its cadence and rhythms can help provide a really unique perspective on our work experiences and our career choices.
Full moons in particular can be considered an opportunity for illumination and release.
They represent the culmination of the lunar cycle,
And in our lived experience,
This often marks some kind of inflection point,
Maybe between effort and ease,
Control and trust,
Cultivation and integration,
Or shadow and awareness.
And this fleeting but powerful cosmic moment is a special chance for observing what's developed over the previous weeks and what can be calibrated in the coming weeks.
So this full moon inspired practice can help to bring awareness and ease any clinging or grasping to what might no longer serve or align with your greater intentions.
You can choose whether you want this gentle inquiry to be effortless or effortful.
Some options are to simply relax and receive what this session brings to your understanding,
Or to explore your reflections in a journal as you go through the practice.
So you're invited now to settle in,
Making yourself feel as safe and comfortable as possible so you can tune into the experience as deeply and effectively as possible.
We'll start by connecting our breathing rhythm with our intentions for this practice of illumination and release.
First,
Just gently tuning in to the natural cadence of your breathing,
In and out.
And next,
Bringing just a little bit of effort to the inhale,
Just enough to make it feel intentional,
Followed by an easy release in the exhale.
Without effort,
Letting the air find its own way out of its own accord.
And now shifting to a more expansive inhale,
Finding as much space in the body as you comfortably can,
Before a nice full exhale,
Slightly contracting the belly at the very end,
Just to ensure the breath is fully complete.
Cultivating an inhale filled with potential and nourishment and energy,
And feeling your system integrating all of these as you exhale.
Inhaling sensations and perceptions that might be starting to come to your awareness,
And exhaling any sensations or perceptions that might still be hidden in shadow.
Even if you can't quite identify exactly right now just what they might be.
And finally,
Bringing a gentle attention to that tiny pause right at the top of the inhale,
Just before your exhale begins.
This space is our destination today,
This brief connection between both crucial parts of the cycle,
And that transient but potent energy of the full moon that offers us such a gift of perspective and insight.
Go ahead and let your breathing slowly start to return to its natural rhythm.
Now that we're in the cadence of this full moon energy,
We can ease into a gentle prompt for inquiry.
Where in your lived experience might you be sensing misalignment between your work and your greater intentions?
And where might your system be prompting you to bring something into your awareness here for deeper exploration and engagement?
A specific issue or item might float to your consciousness here,
Or you might not feel drawn just now to something identifiable.
Whatever arises for you,
Or doesn't,
Provides useful information,
And you can let your system provide you with its own wisdom and guidance for where to focus this exploration today.
This is a chance to open the gateway for that exploration,
Without the pressure of needing to find any answers or resolution.
Whether this inquiry recognizes something specific or something more abstract,
You might start to tune in to whether your system is holding on to anything that's calling for release or detachment.
This might come to you as a visualization in your mind,
Or you might feel this as a sensation of resistance or clenching in your body.
Maybe you experience colors or sounds or emotions or words.
Sometimes connecting with sensations in the body can feel intense or uncomfortable,
And even alarming or just completely inaccessible.
Sometimes using your senses to focus on something in the space around you can serve as a kind of external anchor to help balance out this internal experience,
And that might make this body awareness feel a little more approachable.
But wherever you are,
Set your own compassionate pace here,
Giving yourself plenty of space to adjust and plenty of permission to draw back from the practice anytime.
Now we'll transition toward releasing what might have just been illuminated for you.
One way to start this process is by gently expanding your awareness within the form of your body.
You can let this exploration unfold on its own,
Checking in to see if you can observe a curious and compassionate energy filtering throughout your body,
Moving organically,
Following its own path and timing.
You might visualize it as a golden light or experience it as a sensation of warmth or anything else that resonates with you.
And it might not feel accessible just now,
And that's okay too.
This is all useful information for us.
Gently note any qualities that you can observe about this energy.
Does it feel steady or variable or somewhere in between?
Does it flow easily throughout the body or does it spread maybe more slowly?
Does it feel comforting or agitating or neutral or any other way?
Next,
Observe any areas where you might sense this energy feels particularly drawn or stuck.
Do you notice any sensations in these areas?
And are these areas of enhanced sensation trying to communicate with you at all?
Maybe something feels heavy or stagnant or blocked.
Are any of these spaces exuding a sense of completion or closure that it might be time to let go of?
Maybe it's something holding us back or something outdated that we're clinging to.
Or it could be something that's beyond our control.
Maybe it's something that just needs to be acknowledged.
Take kind and compassionate note here of any of these sensations and areas or any other useful information that presents itself.
And we'll bring the cycle of this practice full circle and return to our breathing practice to help lean into a sense of release for anything you're ready to let go of in this session.
With a deep,
Intentional inhale,
You can breathe in effortlessly with effort and expansion and awareness.
Acknowledge the brief full moon energy pause at the top of the breath and then let the exhale breathe itself out,
Releasing any expectations and clenching and murkiness to help clear space for deeper alignment with your greater intentions.
Inhaling and exhaling here,
Intentional and aware,
Honoring the pause at the top of the cycle.
With the awareness and space created by illuminating and releasing,
You're invited to close this practice by setting both an intention and an aligned action that honor anything your exploration might have revealed to you.
We like to frame intentions with an I want to statement and then frame aligned actions with a so I will statement.
It might unfold something like this.
I want to detach from my stressful goal of landing my next role immediately,
So I will actively cultivate purpose in my current work responsibilities.
These intentions and aligned actions can be macro or micro.
The invitation is to choose something that will be useful to you as a guiding roadmap to continue along this cosmic journey until the next full moon.
I want to.
So I will.
And as we prepare to wind down this session,
You might feel called to seal in this roadmap with one more cycle of inhaling,
Acknowledging that full moon pause at the top of the breath and exhaling.
And maybe you linger for just another minute to feel the overall effects of this practice on your system.
And then when you feel ready,
You can let your body and attention return naturally to the space and place around you.
We are so honored that you chose to practice with us today.
You can come back to this session at every full moon to explore your insights over time.
In the meantime,
Thank you so much for joining us and we're excited for our next session together.
