Hey there,
It's Marcella here.
If you rebel against going to sleep at a reasonable hour,
There might be a part of you that loves the feeling of staying up late like a teenage rebel partying after hours.
Woohoo!
Party!
Late night might feel like the right time to start snacking or scrolling or having a glass of wine or a gummy.
It feels rebellious and kind of cool,
But then your body hands you the bill when you can't open your eyes in the morning,
Right?
So if this sounds like you,
Let's do some EFT tapping to give voice to the part of you that resists that structure so that you can find a new way to honor your desire for freedom without having to sabotage your self-care.
Okay,
So before we begin,
I want to invite you to place a hand on your heart if it feels good to you to do that and let's take a few breaths together.
Okie doke.
Now tune in to this rebellious teenager who's taken charge of your sleep habits and just tune into her energy and then say as I say and do as I do and please feel free to use your own words if mine don't resonate with you.
Okay,
So let's start by tapping on the fleshy outside of either hand,
What's called the karate chop point.
Okay,
So just tap right there as we say the following words.
Repeat after me.
Even though I'm a total rebel when it comes to sleep,
Go ahead and say that,
I deeply love and completely accept myself.
Even though I've got a rebel teenager in charge of my sleep habits,
I love that rebel and I love myself right where I'm at.
Even though I rebel against creating a regular sleep routine and that rebellion is happening for some reason,
I'm curious to learn more about this.
And I love and accept myself exactly as I am today.
Nice.
Okay,
Let's go up to the top of the head tapping around the points.
I'm a rebel when it comes to sleep.
Go ahead and say it.
Tapping inside the eyebrow,
Right where the eyebrow meets the bridge of the nose.
Okay,
Just when I think it's time to go to bed,
Tapping on the side of the eye,
I start snacking or scrolling under the eye.
I might drink a glass or two of wine.
Under the nose,
I find some reason why I can't go to bed yet.
Under the mouth,
I've got a sneaky little teenage rebel.
Collarbone in charge of my sleep habits.
Under the arm,
She is definitely running the show.
Back up to the top of the head.
My teenage rebel thinks sleep is boring.
Okay.
Inside the eyebrow,
She thinks that staying up is cool and fun.
Side of the eye,
She says,
It's my time just for me.
Under the eye,
She says,
You can't make me go to bed.
Under the nose,
Nobody can tell me what to do.
Under the mouth,
Don't even try to make me go to sleep.
Collarbone,
I'll just stay up even later.
Under the arm,
It's completely baffling.
Back up to the top of the head.
And this rebellion comes at a cost.
Inside the eyebrow,
My inner teenager can stay up all night long.
Side of the eye,
But midlife me needs some rest.
Under the eye,
It's time to make peace with this rebel.
Under the nose,
I'd love to somehow honor her need for freedom.
Under the mouth,
And create a sleep rhythm that supports me.
Collarbone,
I have no idea how to do this.
Under the arm,
And heaven knows I've tried a million times.
Okay,
Top of the head,
Back up,
Final round.
But the truth is,
I do want to go to bed.
Inside the eyebrow,
And I want that because I want it,
Not because someone is making me.
Side of the eye,
So maybe I get to choose how I close the day.
Under the eye,
And I choose to make it my own ritual.
Under the nose,
Make peace with sleep on my own terms.
Under the mouth,
Find what really works for me versus what others say should work for me.
Good,
Okay.
Collarbone,
I'm curious to explore that.
Good,
Under the arm,
And I can start right now.
Great,
Okay.
Let's take a nice breath,
Take a drink of water,
Do a little stretch,
And then check in again with that inner rebel teenager.
How is she feeling?
And see how strong that need is now for you to rebel against a regular sleep routine.
So if there's still more to be done,
Feel free to repeat this tapping guide over again until you start to feel some sense of that rebel calming down,
So that you can create a sleep routine that genuinely works for you.
All right,
Please let me know how this goes.
This is Marcella sending love.
Bye for now.
