Welcome to the Wild Becoming Podcast,

Hosted by Amanda,

An epidemiologist sharing conscious living based in science,

Spirit,

And nature.

In this sanctuary of knowledge,

We blend the robust foundation of scientific truth with wisdom woven by diverse communities,

Disciplines,

And niches across the globe,

Simplifying the intricate patterns of our world.

Michael says hello.

Hello,

Michael.

Thanks for being here.

So I like to start these sessions,

We have a bit to cover,

But I love to start these sessions just by really getting grounded and arriving.

So when we're moving through our day,

We're moving through different energy of our day,

Different thoughts,

Different feelings,

And we just want to be able to arrive before we pick up anything new.

We want to be able to arrive before we eat anything new or try to digest anything new.

Because it's kind of like when you're eating on the go,

Eating on the go doesn't really feel good to us,

We usually get an upset stomach,

We usually don't feel very well,

Because we're kind of scattered.

So let's just take a moment to really arrive here.

So that might mean closing down the eyes,

Taking a big deep breath in through the nose.

And you can sigh it out.

Just arriving.

The other thing that we want to do is we want to arrive with our mind,

But we also want to arrive in our body,

With our bodies,

We want to be grounded and centered when we receive information,

When we digest information.

And that means really being in our body being centered and grounded.

And we can do that by simply tapping into a sensation,

You might be feeling a sensation of the heart,

A sensation of the stomach.

So we'll start by tapping into a sensation.

And then just notice where your feet or your tailbone,

Or your body where you're sitting,

Whatever you're sitting on or wherever you're standing.

Just notice where you are in space and feel connected and just start to ground your body into whatever you're sitting on,

Whatever you're standing on.

And feel that connection between you and the ground,

The earth.

And so now that we're feeling nice and grounded,

Nice and centered,

We're going to get into our conversation.

And today's session is all about becoming the alchemist of your life.

So a beautiful friend of mine who also does wonderful work in this area of spirituality and consciousness reminded me of a book I once read when I was in the midst of a big life transformation and transitional period.

And this is among many beautiful experiences I've been having lately.

But this is really what inspired today's session.

Because I think we all have this deep inner desire to know how we can cultivate our life or how we can take control of our life.

Or in other words,

How can we become the alchemist of our own life?

And I think on a deeper level,

The truth is that we already are.

And the other truth,

The other piece of that truth,

Is that it's not in a controlling sense.

So yes,

We can become the alchemist of our life,

So to speak,

But it's never in a controlling sense.

And the reason why it's never in a controlling sense is because we are deeply held by life,

We are deeply held by our creator or God,

And we are deeply supported by all of the beautiful creations because we are part of creation.

And we are given some really beautiful gifts throughout our life.

And you know,

Some of us like to talk or think about the gifts of manifestation.

I know that's a really popular topic in spirituality these days.

Sometimes we like to talk about the ability to set goals,

To cultivate beauty in our life.

But when we think about beauty and cultivation and manifestation,

Sometimes we only think about it the way that we want it,

The way that we expect it.

You know,

It's like ordering a pizza,

I want this on my pizza,

And that's it.

I don't,

I'm not trying pineapples,

I'm not trying,

You know,

Green peppers.

I don't want to try onions.

But sometimes if we try that pineapple or that onion or that,

You know,

Green pepper on the pizza,

It's honestly not so bad.

And maybe our body is actually needing that.

Maybe that's the nourishment that we need.

Because it's not always about what we want.

Sometimes it's about what we need and becoming what we need.

You know,

And I had a really beautiful friend remind me of that the other day,

Like,

Become what you need to be today.

That is becoming the alchemist of your life.

Who do you need to be?

And the problem is,

Is when we think of being the alchemist of our life in a way that's controlling in the way that we only want it the way that we want it in,

In a way that here's my vision,

Make it happen.

We usually get,

We usually get,

You know,

Sometimes we get what we want.

And then we realize it's not what we want.

And if we were just release the need to control,

We would actually see and we usually find that we actually get so much more.

And part of this is the relationship that we have with ourself.

And part of it is the relationship that we have with our creator,

And something bigger than ourselves.

And sometimes we feel this,

You know,

When we go into nature,

And that's because when we go into nature,

We feel that,

Like the greater connection,

We feel that we are part of something.

And perhaps we feel that what we want,

And what we need is already here.

Perhaps we feel that on the day that we were born,

We were already given everything that we need,

If only we would listen and walk the steps to uncovering that because that's what life's all about.

It's not,

It's not just about getting what you want and what you need.

It's about,

It's about the journey of uncovering all of those beautiful things in life.

And if we didn't have that journey,

Like life would be boring.

Life would be dull and boring.

There would be no adventure,

There would be no fun,

There would be no joy because it would just be the same thing all the time.

Our feelings,

Our mood wouldn't change.

And part of the challenges is when we chase,

When we chase a feeling,

Or we chase a thing,

Or we chase a person,

Or we chase a job,

Or we chase money,

Or we chase things,

We just end up going in circles.

Because for the most part,

We want,

We want the desirelessness that comes with just accepting that we have what we need in front of us for the time being.

And can we work with that?

Can we work with that energy?

And I think what you find is when you actually work with that energy,

You,

You,

You become part of the alchemy,

But not again,

Not in a controlling way or,

Or,

Or like all powerful way,

But you become part of that conversation with your creator,

You get to create with your creator.

And I don't,

I don't know any feeling that's better than that.

So just taking a pause to take that in.

And I think,

As we,

As we think a little bit deeper on becoming the alchemist of our own life,

It's really about coming home to yourself.

Having a relationship with your soul,

Because your soul is that part of you that is connected to spirit,

Connected to the energy of source,

Or some people like to say God.

It's really all the same thing.

It's just we identify with something and we,

We let that guide us.

But I think at the end of the day,

What we all come to realize is that it is all the same thing that we're talking about here.

And so we don't need to get caught up on words.

We want to become the alchemist of our life experiences,

We want to create with our creator,

We want to surrender to something that's greater than ourselves.

So what does that mean?

It means that you're not a silent player in your life,

You are an active participant.

It means that you are not just waiting to die,

You are an active participant that gets to cultivate this beautiful thing.

Like imagine that we get to cultivate life alongside the creator that created everything.

But instead,

Sometimes we just,

We just,

We don't see it.

And I get it,

I get it.

Things happen,

Circumstances happen,

We feel powerless.

And then sometimes we feel too powerful and we try to take control.

But what if we just realize deep down that there is no grand steps to take?

There is only small,

Simple,

Conscious action.

And these actions are of least effort.

And least effort comes from,

It's a yogic philosophy term,

And it's not to be confused with lazy effort or no effort,

It's conscious effort.

It's what it means to actually live consciously.

It means that when you're out for a walk and you're connecting to that part of yourself,

It means that you stay there and you're not in your brain thinking about what email you need to answer.

You're there fully to soak up the wisdom,

To soak up the knowledge,

To soak up the messages that you need for your day.

And everybody needs things in their day.

And all of that has already been provided.

The fact that you're here right now means that it's provided for you.

And in life,

We have structure and we have flow.

And we have order.

And we see this in our world,

Right?

We look at the planets,

We look at Earth.

Think about it.

Earth is just floating seemingly out in space.

And yet it's in harmony with other planets.

We don't have other planets crashing into us.

We don't have the sun burning the planet up.

It's the perfect amount of sunlight and the perfect amount of distance from everything to be able to grow life.

What other planet do you know of?

What other planet,

What other place do you know of that grows and cultivates life the way that planet Earth cultivates life?

Everything is right here.

It's not out there.

There's nowhere to go.

Just be here.

And so I'm going to invite you to take a sip of water because if you have water or maybe close your eyes for a minute,

Just center the knowledge or the information or the wisdom,

Whatever you want to call it,

Just center it and see if you can,

After hearing all of that,

See if you can feel the sensations in your body.

Because sometimes,

You know,

We crave just like we crave pizzas and burgers and all kinds of stuff,

Alcohol,

Whatever you want to call it.

We also crave knowledge.

We want to know why we want to know everything.

And sometimes we bite off a little bit more than we can chew.

And in order to be the alchemist of our life,

We want to be in flow.

And sometimes flow means chaos.

So it doesn't mean that there's no chaos in our lives.

But it's not to be confused with creating drama and human drama.

Because this,

I would say,

Is alchemy in the wrong direction.

We want to be going in the right direction,

The direction of righteousness,

Right direction.

But you know,

Life happens,

Circumstance happens.

We want what we want.

We want it when we want it.

We're not willing to wait.

We have no patience.

And these are all qualities that.

.

.

These are the true things that we want to manifest.

Forget the cars,

Forget the money,

Forget the pizzas.

We want to manifest the qualities of righteousness,

Of patience,

Of peace,

Of trust,

Of surrender.

We want to be,

As yogis say,

In right relationship.

Right relationship with life,

Right relationship with God.

We want to flow with the universe,

Not against it.

We want to flow with the source of the energy of creation and our creator.

Doesn't mean there won't be chaos.

Sometimes chaos is needed because it's just like nature.

Nature needs to be destructive in some cases to build anew,

To grow us,

To shape us,

To change us in the direction of our unique and yet similar paths.

It's like the volcano that creates an island for nature.

The volcano creates an island for nature.

And then in some cases,

Humans as part of nature,

We flourish on those islands.

For this very day,

We do.

When I think of islands,

I think of the island of Bermuda and all the other beautiful islands.

There's Hawaii,

The islands of Hawaii I've never been,

But I'm sure it's beautiful.

And that all came from chaos.

But you see,

Chaos happened and then order came.

And there always has to be that rhythm,

That flow of chaos and order.

Drama.

Forget it.

No.

I'm not talking about drama here.

We just want structure and we want flow.

And sometimes life feels like a freestyle and we're just trying to catch our breath.

Just trying to catch our breath.

It can feel like we're riding a wild bull and that we're just hanging on for our dear life.

And we may not have total control over everything because we don't see the bigger picture.

Because even trying to hold the bigger picture would be absolutely exhausting.

We'd have no fun in it.

We'd know everything that was going to happen before it was going to happen.

And again,

Boring.

Not probably where we want to live.

So can we take accountability over the small steps that are ours to take under the listening ear and heart of something greater than ourselves?

And especially now,

Maybe those of you in the Northern Hemisphere are feeling that heat of life,

Of summer,

Where everything's busy,

Busy,

Busy movement,

Like yang energy,

Direct,

Crazy,

Flippant air energy.

Or maybe you're just feeling the heat of a season of life.

And when we feel that way,

We can ground ourselves.

We can learn to flow with the fire and the winds of life and go deep in a way that is both grounded and centered.

Just like we are right now.

We're going deep.

We're talking about deep stuff.

But we can feel centered.

And it's all in that feeling,

Right?

As long as you have that feeling of feeling grounded and centered,

You can go anywhere.

You can experience anything.

But we want to feel grounded.

We want to feel centered.

And we want to be part of that dance of life.

And so how can we center ourselves so that we can allow our creator to pour into us everything that we need in this moment?

And it's not about having the ability to do so or not do so.

It's not about wanting to or not wanting.

It's not about trying that we're trying.

You can't try.

You either are or you're not.

No more trying.

Can you align yourself fully and completely on this earth so that you can receive the steady flow of everything that is meant for you?

Everything that was given to you on the day you were born.

And you know,

It reminds me a lot of,

It's nice that I have my dad here today because it reminds me a lot of,

You know,

Your parents,

They want to give you everything.

They want to do everything for you.

But they also are not going to buy you a Ferrari because they know that you could,

You could hurt yourself,

Right?

They're not going to give you,

They're not going to give you everything you want just because you cry and you complain in the grocery store and you throw a temper tantrum.

And there's a reason for that.

There's a reason why you don't have everything you want.

And you should be thankful for that.

Because if you did,

It might not go in the direction that you think you want to go in.

So that was deep.

That might feel a bit heavy.

Close your eyes if you need to.

Feel your heart beating inside of your chest.

Feel your feet planted on the floor,

Your spine connected to the earth,

Wherever you are sitting or standing,

Just feel the ground.

Breathe in and exhale.

So why center?

Why is coming back to center?

How does that align with becoming the alchemist of your life?

And it's sort of like a cup,

Right?

So if you were to,

If you were to like take a cup and tilt it sideways,

Like,

I'm not going to ask someone to give me water when I'm tilting the cup like this.

The water would just go everywhere all over me,

Because the cup is not in alignment.

This is alignment,

Center,

This,

This,

This,

This,

This,

No,

Not alignment,

Right,

Aligned.

You want aligned because that allows everything to flow in.

And then,

You know,

We feel good when we take a sip,

Want to take a sip dry,

We don't want to take a sip soaking wet.

You know,

And you know,

Sometimes we're mad,

Right?

Because we're like,

Give me that water,

But I'm thirsty,

I want the water,

No,

No,

Everything and everything in life is a polarity,

It's a dance.

You know,

We we fight with our creator sometimes,

Because we don't understand.

And that's the that's the main thing I want to say is,

Seek to understand why you are where you are,

And then be grateful that you're there.

And open your eyes and open your heart to all of the things that want to pour into you.

That is your role.

Your role isn't to control everything or try to alchemize everything you want or try to manifest everything.

Or you know,

Sit down every day and write a list of what you want to know.

And we can,

We can be in that graceful place.

Just holding that intention.

You know,

We may want something and it's okay to desire.

I'm not saying don't desire.

But don't allow the energy of the chase of that desire to pull you to the floor.

Because we're moving here.

Okay,

We're all moving and we're all moving together.

And we need to keep moving.

So listen.

I want you to listen clearly.

You know,

It's it's no surprise,

I guess.

For some people like to say ironic or synchronicity,

Like synchronicity.

But one of the interesting synchronicities that one of my teachers taught me is that the ears are shaped like the heart.

And when you put the ears together,

It's like the heart.

So what I invite you to do is what as we move through this next part of the practice,

As we integrate this.

I want you to envision your listening ears as part of your heart.

And I want you to listen.

And the reason why listening is important is because we cannot become the alchemist of our life if we are not listening.

Because when we when we when we create and we're not listening,

We create shit,

Basically.

There's no other way to say it.

And it's not.

And that's not what you want to create.

You don't want to create drama,

You don't want to create,

You know,

You don't want to create negativity,

You want to create gold,

Right?

The alchemist wants to create gold.

Because God,

Our creator gave us all the gold we could ever want the day we were born.

And so let's digest,

We have to digest this,

Take a sip of water,

Center,

Close down the eyes if that feels comfortable to you.

Feel yourself wherever you're sitting or standing,

Feel yourself connected.

Feel yourself connected to that piece,

That piece of structure that is connected to the earth.

Take a deep breath in through your nose.

And out through your mouth.

In through your nose.

And out.

Now,

I invite you to with your eyes closed,

If that feels comfortable to you,

And save.

Put a hand on your heart and your sacral energy.

Your sacral energy is like your pelvis.

And I just want you to feel the flow of energy as you inhale and exhale happening between these two places.

Because this is the energy of desire,

This is the energy of love,

This is the energy of creation,

And it swirls between our pelvis and our heart very significantly.

So breathe deeply and just really tune into what you're feeling in those areas.

Deep breathing.

Noticing any tension.

And if you're feeling really stiff,

Because sometimes when we receive a lot of information,

A lot of truth,

Even,

We can start to stiffen up.

It's like,

It's like,

It's like we're in the F-150.

And we're we're driving at G forces.

Don't allow yourself to stiffen.

Dig space into that part of your body.

And if you need to introduce movement,

Like to your head,

Your neck,

You need to stretch your arms,

Like stretch them.

Breathe in through your nose,

Pull the air all the way down to the base of your spine.

Hold it,

Hold it,

Hold it,

Hold it,

Hold it.

Breathe another sip in,

Hold it.

Exhale as slow as possible.

Notice your body.

Notice your energy in your body.

This is your temple.

This is this is where alchemy happens.

But not alone.

With your creator.

Another deep breath in through the nose.

All the way down to the base of the spine,

Fill up,

Up,

Up,

Up,

Up,

Up,

Up with air.

Another sip in,

And then exhale as slow as you can.

This is a really important practice,

And it's really simple.

But it is so needed to digest life.

We want to digest.

And I deeply trust that you are going to take this magical time together and continue to digest.

Because the most important thing we can do is the yoga or the meditation or the prayer off the mat.

We need to take it into our lives.

And so anytime you feel like,

Oh,

I just need to catch my breath,

Especially when you know summer air does that to us,

You know,

Anytime you feel that way.

Take a deep breath in,

Breathe all the way down.

You want to make sure that air gets all the way down your temple.

Your whole body is sacred.

Your whole body holds answers,

Your whole body holds energy.

And we want the energy to be to be clean,

We want it to flow.

Because when we let it flow,

We get more poured in.

And then we drink the nectar of life.

So I just want to thank you so much for your time.

I see so many beautiful messages in the chat.

There's some laughs.

It's good to laugh,

Laugh.

It's important to laugh because life is hard.

It's not an easy path.

And you know,

We're all we need to remember,

We're all we're all walking this together.

We can all laugh together about it.

We can all cry together all about it,

You know.

So thank you so much for your energy.

Thank you for sharing.

For sharing,

Right?

Thank you for coming together in this way.

This is community.
