Hello,
My sweet listener.
Welcome to Storytime with Nana Jojo.
I'm so happy you're here.
I'm Nana Jojo,
And I have another wonderful story to share with you today.
But first,
Let's get cozy.
Grab your favorite stuffy,
Make sure you've got a soft blanket,
And let's snuggle in.
Okay,
Now let's take some slow,
Deep breaths together.
When we take big,
Slow breaths,
Our bodies feel happier and more relaxed.
So take a big breath in through your nose,
And breathe out with a happy sigh,
Like this.
Let's do that again.
One more time,
Big breath in,
And breathe out.
One more time,
Big breath in,
And breathe out.
Super duper job.
Do you feel nice and relaxed?
Yay,
I do too.
Okay,
My sweet little one,
It's time for our story.
It's another story about Luna the Little Star,
The kind and caring star who loves to help children from high up in the night sky.
Today,
Luna the Little Star makes a new friend with a cloud who feels left out and lonely.
It's a story about friendship and about being kind to others,
Especially those who may feel left out.
Are you ready?
Okay,
Let's begin.
Once upon a time,
There was a little star in the sky whose name was Luna.
One evening,
Luna was in her spot high up in the sky,
Twinkling and sparkling in her usual happy way.
She was having a wonderful night.
She had just finished helping children fall asleep with her soft,
Gentle glow.
Now she was playing a game with her star friends,
Stella and Blaze.
Stella sent a trail of starlight across the sky and said to Luna,
Catch my sparkle.
Luna laughed and twinkled back to Stella by creating beautiful patterns in the night sky.
Luna loved playing with her friends.
Suddenly,
Luna noticed something floating slowly across the sky.
It was a small,
Fluffy cloud.
But this cloud looked different from the others.
Most clouds traveled in groups as they laughed and drifted along together.
But this little cloud drifted all alone.
Luna looked closely and she saw that the cloud seemed sad.
Luna called out to the cloud,
Hello there,
I'm Luna,
What's your name?
The little cloud looked surprised that someone was talking to them.
I'm Drizzle,
The cloud said quietly,
But you don't have to talk to me.
I know I'm just in the way.
Luna was confused.
In the way,
What do you mean,
She said.
Drizzle sighed,
I'm a rain cloud.
The other clouds don't want to play with me because I'm always gray and drippy.
And the stars don't like me because I block their light.
I don't really fit in anywhere.
Luna knew exactly how it felt to feel different.
She could feel her heart starting to feel soft and warm.
Luna asked the cloud,
Would you like to be my friend?
Drizzle's eyes grew wide with surprise.
Really,
But I'm a cloud and you're a star.
We're so different.
And what if I accidentally rain on you?
That's okay,
Luna said with a kind twinkle.
Being different is what makes friendship fun.
Come on,
Float beside me for a while.
Drizzle hesitated a bit,
But then he drifted closer to Luna.
At first,
Drizzle was very nervous and quiet.
He was worried he'd do something wrong,
But Luna was patient and kind.
She asked Drizzle questions about what it was like to float through the sky and touch the tops of mountains.
Luna's questions and kindness helped Drizzle relax.
And then he talked more.
Drizzle told Luna about the beautiful views from way up high.
And Luna told Drizzle about the children she helped every night.
They discovered they both loved watching sunsets and listening to birds sing in the morning.
Drizzle said to Luna,
You know what?
I've never had anyone ask me so many questions before.
It sure feels nice to have someone who wants to know about me.
And Luna said,
That's what friends do.
As the night went on,
Luna's friends,
Stella and Blaze,
Were curious about Luna's new friend.
And they glided through the dark night sky to meet him.
This is Drizzle,
Luna said proudly.
Drizzle,
These are my friends Stella and Blaze.
Drizzle felt a little shy.
He was worried the bright stars wouldn't like him.
But Stella kindly said,
Any friend of Luna's is a friend of ours.
And Blaze chimed right in and said,
Yeah.
And you know what?
I've always wondered what it's like to be a cloud.
Can you really sit on mountaintops?
Drizzle perked up.
Yes,
And I can tell you about all the things I see when I travel all around the world.
Soon,
All four of them were talking and laughing together.
Drizzle told amazing stories about all the faraway places he had visited.
And the stars shared their own stories about the adventures they had every night.
You're not in the way at all,
Said Stella.
You're wonderful.
Drizzle felt so happy that a tiny rainbow appeared in his misty edges.
I've never had friends before,
Drizzle said softly.
I always thought I had to be like everyone else so they'd like me.
Luna said,
The best friendships happen when we're just being ourselves.
I'm a gentle twinkling star and you're a rain cloud.
Stella is bright and sparkly,
And Blaze is warm and strong.
We're all different,
And that's what makes being friends so special.
From that night on,
Luna and Drizzle were the best of friends.
Sometimes Drizzle would drift by during the day to wave at Luna before she went to sleep.
And Luna would shine extra bright so Drizzle could see her through the daylight.
And on special nights,
They worked together.
Luna's gentle light shined through Drizzle's soft mist and created the most beautiful and peaceful glow for the children sleeping below.
The other clouds saw how happy Drizzle was and they started being friendlier too.
They realized that Drizzle had always been special.
They just hadn't taken the time to get to know him.
Luna taught everyone an important lesson that night.
That the best friends are the ones who like you for exactly who you are.
Being different isn't something that keeps us apart.
It's something that brings us together.
The end.
And so,
My dear little listener,
What did we learn from our story today?
Well,
We learned about friendship and that the best friends are the ones who like you for exactly who you are.
And they're the ones you like for exactly who they are.
We also learned that being different doesn't keep us apart.
Our differences are what makes our friendships special.
As our story time comes to an end,
I want you to remember that you are special in your very own way.
And real friends love you just the way you are.
And also,
Remember that being kind to someone who's feeling lonely just might give you the most wonderful friend of all.
And one more thing,
Always remember that Nana Jojo loves you so very much.
I'll be right here when you're ready to listen to another story,
Okay?
And if it's time for you to sleep now,
I'm wishing you happy and sweet dreams,
My sweet little one.
Good night and sleep tight.
I'll see you again really soon.
