Hello,
My sweet listener.
Welcome to Storytime with Nana Jojo.
I'm so happy you're here.
I'm Nana Jojo,
And I have another wonderful story to share with you today.
But first,
Let's get cozy.
Grab your favorite stuffie.
Make sure you've got a soft blanket and snuggle in.
And now let's take some slow,
Deep breaths together.
When we breathe slowly,
Our bodies feel calm and relaxed.
So let's take a big breath in through your nose.
And breathe out with a happy sigh like this.
Ahhhh.
Let's do that again.
Big breath in.
And breathe out.
Ah.
One more time.
Big breath in.
And breathe out.
Ah.
Super duper job.
Do you feel nice and relaxed?
Yay,
I do too!
Okay,
My sweet little one,
It's time for our story.
This is another story about Luna the Little Star.
The kind and caring star who loves to help children from way up in the night sky.
In today's story,
Luna learns how to be brave when she helps a lost bunny find their way home.
Are you ready?
Okay,
Let's begin.
Once upon a time,
High up in the night sky,
There lived a little star named Luna.
Every night,
Luna shined her soft,
Gentle light through bedroom windows,
Helping children feel safe as they fell asleep.
Luna loved her job.
One evening,
Luna was just beginning her night.
She was happy and content,
Twinkling and glowing peacefully in her special spot high up in the sky.
Suddenly.
.
.
Luna heard a sound.
The sound was coming from far below.
From the dark forest at the edge of the meadow.
Luna heard a small,
Frightened voice calling.
Help!
Is anyone there?
Luna looked down through the darkness.
There.
At the edge of the forest,
She saw a tiny bunny.
The bunny had hopped too far from home while playing during the day.
And now night had fallen and the little bunny was lost and a bit scared.
Luna felt a little nervous.
The dark forest was far from her usual spot in the sky.
And she'd never traveled that far before.
What if she got lost too?
What if her light wasn't bright enough to help?
Hmm.
I'm just a small star.
Maybe I should call one of the bigger,
Brighter stars,
Luna wondered to herself.
But then she heard the bunny's voice again.
Please help me.
I want to go home.
Luna felt something stir inside her heart.
The little bunny needed help now.
And she was the closest star who could see them.
Luna took a deep breath and she made a decision.
She was going to be brave,
Even though she felt scared.
Luna called down to the bunny.
Hold on,
Little one,
I'm coming.
Luna left her comfortable spot and she began to travel across the sky.
Closer to the dark forest and closer to the bunny.
Her light trembled a little as she went,
But she kept going.
When she reached the forest,
Luna saw how dark and tangled it was.
The trees were tall and thick.
And their branches created confusing shadows.
No wonder the little bunny was scared.
Luna felt a flutter of fear in her own heart.
But then she looked down at the bunny's hopeful face.
Can you really help me?
Asked the bunny.
Yes,
Follow my glow.
I'm going to light your way home,
Said Luna.
Luna positioned herself right above the forest path and she shined her twinkling light downward.
It wasn't a huge bright beam.
It was soft and gentle,
Just like always.
But it was enough.
The little bunny could see the path ahead now.
Take one step at a time.
I'll be right here with you,
Luna said to the little bunny.
Step by step,
The little bunny hopped through the forest.
Sometimes the path twisted and turned,
And Luna had to move carefully to keep lighting the way for the little bunny.
Luna kept her twinkling light steady and strong.
You're doing wonderfully.
It's just a little further.
Luna called down to the little bunny.
Finally,
They reached the edge of the forest and there was the little bunny's family waiting for her.
The mother bunny scooped up her little one.
Thank you.
Thank you,
Dear little star.
The little bunny looked up at Luna with big,
Grateful eyes.
You were so brave.
You saved me and you helped me find my way home.
Thank you.
Luna felt a warm feeling spread through her body.
She'd felt scared,
But she'd been brave anyway.
And that felt wonderful.
As Luna traveled back to her spot in the sky,
Grandfather Orion greeted her with a proud twinkle.
I saw what you did,
Luna.
That took real courage,
" he said.
I was scared,
But the little bunny needed help,
So I had to try,
Luna said.
That's what bravery is,
" Grandfather Orion said.
Being brave doesn't mean you're not afraid.
It means you do the right thing even when you are afraid.
You felt afraid,
But you chose to help anyway.
That makes you one of the bravest stars in the whole sky.
Luna smiled and glowed with pride.
She was so happy she'd been brave enough to help when someone needed her,
Even when she felt scared.
And from that night on,
Whenever Luna felt nervous or afraid,
She remembered the night she guided the little bunny back home.
Luna remembered something really important.
Being brave doesn't mean you're never scared.
Being brave means you help anyway,
Because your heart is kind.
And Luna had one of the kindest,
Bravest hearts of all.
The End as our story comes to an end.
Remember this,
Being brave doesn't mean you're never scared.
Being brave means you can be kind and helpful,
Even when you do feel afraid.
And you are braver than you know.
And remember my sweet little one.
You are special in your very own way.
Most of all,
Always remember that Nana Jojo loves you so very much.
I'll be right here whenever you're ready for another story,
Okay?
And if it's time to sleep,
I'm wishing you the happiest and sweetest of dreams.
Good night and sleep tight.
I'll see you again very soon.
