Hello my sweet listener.
Welcome to Storytime with Nana Jojo.
I'm so happy you're here.
I'm Nana Jojo and I have the most wonderful stories to share with you.
Every week I bring you magical stories filled with adventure,
Kindness,
And happy endings.
They're perfect for bedtime,
Nap time,
Or any time you want to hear a story.
We'll visit enchanted forests,
Meet brave princes and princesses,
And we'll learn important lessons about kindness,
Courage,
Friendship,
And staying true to ourselves.
But before we start our story today,
Let's get cozy.
Make sure you've got your favorite stuffy and maybe even a soft cuddly blanket.
Are you ready?
Wonderful.
Next,
Let's do some calming breaths together before our story begins,
Okay?
Remember that when we take big slow breaths,
Our bodies feel happier and more relaxed.
So let's breathe together,
Okay?
Take a nice big breath in through your nose like this.
And then you can make a sound as you breathe out like this.
Good job.
Let's do another one together.
Big breath in and breathe out again with a happy sigh.
Yay.
Awesome job.
One more time,
Okay?
Big breath in and breathe out with a happy sigh.
Super duper job.
Do you feel more relaxed?
Yay,
Me too.
Okay,
My sweet listener,
It's time for our story now.
Come snuggling close.
Let's begin.
Once upon a time,
Long ago in a peaceful forest,
There was a cozy little cottage.
And in that cozy little cottage lived three very special bears.
First,
There was Papa Bear.
Papa Bear was big and strong,
And he had a voice that sounded like gentle thunder.
Then there was Mama Bear.
Mama Bear was just the right size,
And she had the kindest,
Most loving heart.
And then there was Baby Bear.
Baby Bear was small and sweet,
And he loved to play and giggle a lot.
The three bears loved each other very,
Very much,
And together they took wonderful care of their little home.
Every morning Mama Bear made the most delicious porridge for breakfast.
Porridge is like oatmeal,
And Mama Bear made it just right for each member of her family.
Papa Bear liked his porridge nice and hot because he was so big and so strong.
Mama Bear liked her porridge warm and perfectly smooth.
And little Baby Bear liked his porridge cool enough so he could eat it right away.
Baby Bear was always so excited for breakfast.
One sunny morning before breakfast,
Papa Bear had a wonderful idea.
The porridge is a little too hot right now,
He said.
Why don't we take a morning walk through our beautiful forest while it cools down?
What a marvelous idea,
Said Mama Bear,
Clapping her paws together.
Yes,
Yes,
Let's go explore,
Squeaked Baby Bear,
And he bounced up and down with excitement.
So the three bears,
Holding paws like the loving family they were,
Walked out of their cozy cottage and into the magical forest for their morning walk.
They smelled the sweet flowers,
Listened to the birds singing happy songs,
And they felt the warm sunshine on their furry faces.
Now,
At the very same time,
A little girl with beautiful golden curls was walking through the forest too.
Her name was Goldilocks.
Goldilocks had golden hair like sunshine and eyes that sparkled with curiosity.
Goldilocks loved to explore and discover new things,
But sometimes her excitement made her forget her manners.
As she skipped through the forest,
Something wonderful caught her eye.
A sweet little cottage with a red roof and flower boxes in the windows.
Oh my,
What a perfectly lovely little house.
I wonder who lives here,
Said Goldilocks to herself.
Goldilocks should have knocked on the door and waited to be invited in,
But her curiosity was so strong that rather than knock,
She gently pushed the door open and she peeked inside.
Hello,
Anyone home?
She called out softly.
Goldilocks waited for a response,
But when no one answered,
She stepped inside the cozy cottage.
The first thing she noticed was the most wonderful smell coming from the kitchen.
There on the wooden table sat three bowls of porridge,
Each one a different size.
There was a great big bowl,
A medium-sized bowl,
And a tiny little bowl that was just perfect for someone small.
The porridge smelled so delicious and Goldilocks' tummy began to rumble.
I'm sure no one would mind if I had just a tiny taste,
She said to herself.
First,
She tried the porridge from Papa Bear's great big bowl.
Ouch,
Oh my,
She said.
This porridge is much too hot for me.
Then she tried the porridge from Mama Bear's medium-sized bowl.
Brr,
She shivered.
This porridge is too cold.
Finally,
She tried the porridge from Baby Bear's tiny bowl.
Mmm,
She smiled with delight.
This porridge is just right.
It's perfectly warm and wonderfully sweet.
And because it tasted so good,
Goldilocks ate it all up,
Every last spoonful.
After her tummy was full,
Goldilocks felt a little sleepy and she wanted to sit down.
In the cozy living room,
She saw three chairs.
Each one was a different size.
There was Papa Bear's great big chair with soft cushions.
There was Mama Bear's medium-sized chair that looked so comfortable.
And there was Baby Bear's tiny chair that was just the right size for someone small.
First,
Goldilocks climbed up into Papa Bear's great big chair.
Oh my,
This chair is much too big and much too hard for me,
She said.
Then she tried Mama Bear's medium-sized chair.
Hmm,
This chair is a little too soft for me.
Finally,
She sat in Baby Bear's tiny chair.
Ah,
This chair is just right and just perfect for me.
Goldilocks rocked back and forth,
Feeling so comfortable.
But then,
Crack!
Oh dear,
Goldilocks had rocked too forcefully and the little chair broke into pieces.
Oh no,
I didn't mean to break the chair,
Said Goldilocks.
Goldilocks was then feeling even more sleepy,
So she decided to go upstairs to see if there might be a place to rest.
She found a big bedroom with three beds.
Each bed was a different size.
There was Papa Bear's great big bed,
Mama Bear's medium-sized bed,
And Baby Bear's tiny bed.
Goldilocks decided to try Papa Bear's great big bed first,
But she thought it was much too big for her.
Then she tried Mama Bear's medium-sized bed,
But it was too soft.
Finally,
She tried Baby Bear's little bed,
And it was just perfect.
It was so perfect that Goldilocks decided to curl up like a little kitten under the soft,
Cozy blankets in Baby Bear's bed.
Before she knew it,
She was fast asleep.
Meanwhile,
The three bears finished their morning walk through the forest and they were ready to come home and eat their breakfast.
When they opened the door to their cottage,
Papa Bear immediately noticed something wasn't quite right.
He looked at the table with their bowls and noticed that someone had been eating his bowl of porridge.
Oh my,
Someone's been eating my porridge!
He wasn't angry,
But he was surprised.
Mama Bear was surprised too when she noticed there was a bite of porridge out of her bowl.
Baby Bear was the most surprised of all because he saw that the porridge in his bowl was all gone.
Someone's been eating my porridge and they ate it all up,
He said.
The three bears then noticed something different about their chairs.
Papa Bear looked at his chair and saw that the cushions had been moved,
And he said,
Someone's been sitting in my chair.
Mama Bear noticed that the cushions on her chair had been moved too,
And she said,
Someone's been sitting in my chair.
And then Baby Bear said,
Someone's been sitting in my chair and it's all broken.
The three bears looked at each other and then they decided they better check upstairs.
So quietly,
Papa Bear,
Mama Bear,
And Baby Bear tiptoed up the stairs to their bedroom.
Papa Bear looked at his bed and saw the covers were messed up,
And he whispered,
Someone's been sleeping in my bed.
Mama Bear saw her pillows had been moved around on her bed too,
And she whispered,
Someone's been sleeping in my bed too.
And Baby Bear was really surprised when he looked at his bed,
And he whispered,
Someone's been sleeping in my bed and they're still there.
There in Baby Bear's little bed was Goldilocks.
Her golden curls were spread across the pillow and she was sound asleep.
Baby Bear was a kind little bear,
So he gently walked up to his bed and tapped Goldilocks on the shoulder.
Excuse me,
He said in his tiny sweet voice,
But I think you might be lost.
Goldilocks opened her eyes and saw three bears looking at her with very curious but gentle expressions.
At first she was frightened.
She knew she'd made some mistakes.
But Papa Bear spoke up in his kind voice.
Don't be afraid,
Little one.
We know you didn't mean any harm.
You must have been very hungry and very tired,
Said Mama Bear.
Goldilocks sat up in the little bed and she felt ashamed for what she had done.
I'm so very sorry,
She said with tears in her eyes.
I should have knocked on your door first.
I should have asked permission.
I didn't mean to break your chair or eat your porridge or mess up your beds.
The three bears looked at each other and their hearts filled with kindness and compassion for this little girl who was clearly very sorry for her mistakes.
We can see that you're truly sorry,
Said Papa Bear gently.
We all make mistakes sometimes.
That's how we learn to do better.
The most important thing,
Said Mama Bear,
Is that you understand why it's important to ask permission before taking things that belong to others.
And always knock first,
Added Baby Bear.
And that made everyone smile.
Goldilocks nodded.
I promise I will always ask permission from now on.
I've learned that it's much better to be invited than to just take what isn't mine.
Well then,
Said Papa Bear,
Since you're truly sorry and you've learned your lesson,
Would you like to stay for breakfast?
Mama Bear can make fresh porridge for all of us.
And I can show you how to sit carefully in chairs so they don't break,
Said Baby Bear.
Goldilocks's face lit up with joy and gratitude.
Oh,
Thank you.
I would love that very much.
And I promise to help fix your little chair,
Too.
Mama Bear then made wonderful breakfast with four bowls of porridge this time.
Just the right temperature for everyone.
Papa Bear found some wood to help mend Baby Bear's chair.
And Goldilocks learned that the very best adventures happen when we're honest,
Kind,
And respectful of others.
From that day forward,
Goldilocks and the three bears became the very best of friends.
Goldilocks visited them often,
And she always knocked first and waited to be invited in.
They had the most wonderful adventures together in their magical forest.
And so,
My dear little listeners,
What did we learn from our story today?
First,
We learned that it's always important to ask permission before taking things that belong to others.
Second,
We learned that when we make mistakes,
The best thing to do is to say we're sorry and try to make things right.
Third,
We learned that we can choose to be kind every single day.
Kindness and forgiveness can turn strangers into the very best of friends,
Just like Goldilocks and the three bears.
And lastly,
We learned that the most wonderful adventures happen when we treat others the way we would like to be treated.
So,
My dear little ones,
As our story time comes to an end,
Remember that tomorrow brings new opportunities for adventure and for kindness.
And always remember,
Too,
That Nana Jojo loves you so very much.
I'll be right here when you're ready to listen to another story,
Okay?
And if it's time for you to go to sleep now,
I'm wishing you happy and sweet dreams,
My little love.
Good night and sleep tight.
I'll see you again real soon.
