We've come to that time of the year where it gets a little bit quieter,
Perhaps a bit slower,
And we look at all the things that we've achieved and done this year.
Some of us look back with happier memories,
Some of us look back with more challenging moments.
Know that it's all part of the waves of life and no matter how you've had it this year,
I want you to know that you should be so proud of yourself for making it to where you are now.
Because the memories,
The good,
The bad,
Help shape us into who we are today.
This meditation will be guided in the form of reflective questions,
So if you also want to take this as a time to journal,
As a time to pour your words onto paper,
I invite you to do so.
You can pause the audio clip accordingly so you have time to write,
But if not,
The questions are here for you to take a moment to think through,
To reflect,
And see what this past year has brought for you.
So I invite you to find a comfortable seat,
Whether it's sitting on a chair,
Sitting on the floor,
Maybe you have a notebook and a pen in front of you,
Whatever it is.
We're going to start with one full deep breath,
So taking a deep inhale in and a full exhale out,
Relaxing the shoulders,
Relaxing any tension in your body.
One more time,
Take a deep inhale in and as you exhale,
Release,
Release,
Release.
Release.
Question number one is,
How have I navigated challenges faced this year?
So I invite you to think of a moment,
A situation where you faced a challenge,
Maybe adversity.
If you can't think of a moment,
Maybe what areas of your life were challenging for you,
Be it career,
Relationships,
Health,
And so on.
How did you feel when those challenges came about?
Take note of your emotions,
The feelings that came up in your body.
Take note of the story you told yourself,
Your self-talk.
Take note of how the experience brought you to who you are today.
How did you grow from it?
What did you learn from it?
Did it make you stronger?
How so?
Reflecting on challenging times like these are so important for growth,
Both personally and professionally.
Even though it can be hard to look back,
Even though we may not want to look back,
Sitting with it,
Feeling what comes up can be so helpful.
If you need more time to think or to write,
Feel free to pause if you need more time.
Question number two,
What are some accomplishments you are most proud of?
Whether it's a happy moment or a moment where you won something or you did something you never thought you could do,
The little wins,
Big accomplishments.
We tend to overestimate what we can do in a day but tend to underestimate what we can do in a year.
So take this opportunity to look at the past year,
All that you've did.
Notice the little wins,
The big accomplishments.
Breathe through it,
Feel it.
Take yourself back to that moment.
How did that experience impact you to who you are today?
And I think sometimes we feel embarrassed or we feel sometimes we feel embarrassed or we feel like we're not worthy of looking at our accomplishments.
I want to take this opportunity to just really hone into that.
So often we look at what we're not good at or what we can't do but I want you to look at what you can do and what you achieved because we all deserve to celebrate that.
If you need more time to write or to think,
Feel free to pause here.
Question number three,
How can I move forward knowing what I've learned and accumulated this year?
Experience without reflection only gets you so far.
So take this moment to acknowledge all that you've done,
All that you've learned.
As you step into a new year,
You carry these lessons and learnings with you.
How can you move forward knowing what you've learned and accumulated this year?
Maybe it's setting an intention.
Maybe it's doing something you've never done before.
Maybe it's to practice more patience and gratitude.
Maybe it's taking up a new hobby or trying something new that scares you.
Maybe it's finding a new version of a consistent routine or prioritizing your health more.
Take this as a mini intention setting session.
That next step that you can do to improve yourself,
To improve your life as we go into the new year doesn't have to be big,
Doesn't have to be the most exciting thing.
Maybe it's just one little thing.
How can you move forward knowing what you've learned and accumulated this year?
If you need more time to write or to think,
Feel free to pause.
As we end this reflection session,
Let's take a deep inhale in and a full exhale out.
Coming back into the breath.
Another one here.
Inhale and a full exhale out.
As we end,
I want to leave you with the fact that no matter what this year had in store for you,
Remember that there's a new one ahead.
There's always time to work towards your goals without rushing.
I encourage you to follow your own timeline,
To do things at your own pace.
Nothing magically has to change on January 1st.
It isn't a deadline to hit or a new or a day to begin.
It's just another day.
Allow yourself to let go of any stress,
Any expectation and know that you can work towards your goals just once at a time.
When you are ready,
You can open the eyes if you had them closed.
Starting to feel your body,
Feel your breath.
I wish you a happy and healthy 2025.
