Hello and welcome beautiful Insight Timer community.
It's been a while since I've done a track on scripting and I figured I would do a few more because scripting is something that I really believe in and something that really helps me sometimes just to get out of a funk.
Recently my father-in-law had been dealing with pancreatic cancer which came on suddenly and very aggressively and I kept thinking to myself as I heard of his decline and my husband would come home and tell me how he had been that day,
He was spending every day there by his bedside and both of us said you know with something that hard and that painful you wish sometimes it could be like when our pup was declining in his health and we were able to make a humane choice to end his suffering.
Unfortunately as we know that's not an option with people but I kept thinking to myself you know please God,
Universe,
Let him get through this quickly,
Let him transition,
Let him be in peace and he did pass away this past weekend and while it's a huge loss we're also relieved because that pain is all over and watching him be in that kind of pain was awful and I like to think that my feelings,
My hoping that he would transition quickly was in a way my setting and intention for him and my intention was that he be at peace and I happened to pick up a book I have by Oprah Winfrey where she mentioned something that she had read in Gary Zukav's The Seat of the Soul.
Gary writes every action,
Thought and feeling is motivated by an intention and that intention is a cause that exists as one with an effect.
If we participate in the cause it is not possible for us not to participate in the effect.
In the most profound way we are held responsible for every action,
Thought and feeling which is to say for our every intention.
So basically what he was saying was when you're setting an intention ask yourself what is your intention,
What do you want,
Are you looking to be more loving,
More present,
How can you get through this world and honor yourself.
So Oprah's advice is start living from your intention and I think that is great advice and again I think back to my wishing that my father-in-law would transition quickly.
My intention was that he be pain free,
That his loved ones be at rest,
That they not have to continue watching him struggle and that intention did come through to a good end,
I guess you know we call it an end,
It's a transition.
So I was thinking you know it's been a while since I scripted,
Obviously there was a lot going on and I would like to pick up where I left off and I would invite you to join me,
Think about your intentions and write about them as if they have already happened.
In the case of my father-in-law had I been scripting at the time which as I said there was a lot going on so I hadn't been doing it,
My thoughts were he's at peace now,
The pain is over,
His family can rest soon and can be allowed to grieve.
So when you start writing your scripting,
Think about your intention,
Think about where it's coming from and write from your heart.
I'm going to set five minutes on the clock and we will be back shortly.
All right my friends,
That was five minutes.
As always,
Feel free to continue writing beyond five minutes,
This is just a guide,
Not a rule and to end this I wanted to read a part of Proverbs 29 18,
Where there is no vision the people perish,
This is something that Oprah also quoted in her book and it really resonated with me.
So keep that in mind,
Where there is no vision the people perish.
Keep having your visions my friends,
Keep writing them and keep scripting your life.
Until next time,
Have a beautiful day and thank you.
