I'm Victoria Skye.
Thanks for listening to our loving kindness meditation or Metta meditation.
So we will go on and get started together.
Let's begin by getting comfortable.
Sit so that you can be relaxed with a beautiful straight spine.
Take two or three deep breaths,
Just nice long and slow,
Complete exhalations.
Let go.
Let go of any concerns.
Anything that is tickling your mind right now.
Imagine your breath in your heart,
In your chest.
Feeling that swelling in your chest as you breathe.
And in this meditation,
We are offering that loving kindness outwardly to even some places that might be challenging to send it to.
So we're going to begin a little bit closer to home.
And just slowly repeat these phrases.
May I be happy?
May I be well?
May I be safe?
May I be peaceful and at ease?
Maybe allow your eyes to close,
Gaze into that third eye space.
Or maybe they just feel soft.
Offering yourself those words.
May I be happy?
May I be well?
May I be safe?
May I be peaceful and at ease?
Allow these words to sink into your being as if they are intentions.
Allow a feeling of warmth to just wash over you as if you're being wrapped in a bubble of love and friendliness caressing your body and mind.
Allow yourself to connect to those words to that intention.
Maybe continue to repeat them either in your mind or out loud.
May I be happy?
May I be well?
May I be safe?
May I be peaceful and at ease?
And now see a dear friend or somebody that is close to you.
See them in your mind's eye or third eye space and offer them these words.
May you be happy?
May you be well?
May you be safe?
May you be peaceful and at ease?
Repeating them again and allowing them to sink almost as if these words are made of stars,
Fairy dust and as you say them they create a form and those sprinkling of magic just drops itself into your body,
Into the air.
As if you are giving them life just by saying them and seeing them.
As you continue to say these words,
Maybe you invite other people into that mind's eye,
Neighbours,
Acquaintances,
Somebody who is far away in distance to you.
As you see them in that mind's eye,
Offer them the same words and see in that country that may be in most need at the moment,
That place across the water,
That place that might be far from you but seeing it in your mind's eye and offering them,
May you be happy?
May you be well?
May you be safe?
May you be peaceful and at ease?
And offer those words to travel through time and space.
Feel that they're radiating from your heart.
If there is someone that you are struggling with at the moment or somebody who is challenging your feelings,
You can also offer them this same sentiment and allow any feelings of frustration or anger to be softened and turned from suffering to love and joy.
Offering that person or persons or place,
May you be happy?
May you be well?
May you be safe?
May you be peaceful and at ease?
Offering these words without judgement to yourself or others and returning to the practice of your breath or you can continue to stay here,
Gazing into that third eye space,
Offering the same words like a mantra.
Seeing the words as they come out of your mouth may be created into fairy dust.
Coming back to your breath,
If you decide to come out now,
Taking long,
Steady,
Deep breaths,
Having three breaths with full intention,
Fully in,
Fully out.
Bringing both hands to rest over your heart space.
And whenever you feel ready,
Maybe blink your eyes open or stay a little bit longer,
However you wish.
