There is no such thing as being behind.
Although when you're in the midst of a mindstorm like that,
It feels very visceral and real.
First of all,
I truly believe that we all do the best we can at any given moment.
Second,
This feeling would be there even if you'd done double of what you've done until now in your life,
Because there's always more to do.
This feeling of being behind comes from a place of never enough.
But just because you can imagine what you could have done more,
It doesn't mean that it would have been physically possible to do it all.
By physically,
I mean of course the movements that are necessary to do a task,
And also the time that it takes to complete something.
We can all agree that the mind moves exponentially faster than the hands,
Right?
So imagining doing something takes a fraction of the time of actually physically doing it.
We can always come up with exponentially more ideas than we are physically able to create.
It's not to say that we can't work on getting better at creating our ideas in physical reality,
But if you're measuring yourself to how many projects your mind imagines and how many you've done,
You're always losing.
So next time when your mind says,
I haven't done enough,
Take this into consideration.
Ask yourself,
Was it physically possible for me to do more than this?
And if yes,
What stood in the way?
It will help you to assess your situation from a more realistic point of view.
And for good measures,
Remember to throw in a good amount of compassion into your observation too.
Cheers to your conscious productivity!
Have a great day!
