The Saraswati Shloka or Saraswati Mantra is to invoke the blessings of goddess Saraswati who represents and symbolizes all forms of knowledge including the knowledge of the performing arts.
The Saraswati Mantra is a Hindu prayer which is chanted before beginning a class or at the beginning of studying something so that all your learning can come about in the form of knowledge and you're not distracted.
And you can absorb everything that you are learning so you enrich your life and you continue to grow and you continue to evolve as it relates to whatever it is that you are studying.
So the way that I'm going to teach this to you,
I'm going to say the full Shloka or Mantra and then I am going to break it up into half and I'm going to leave some silence for you to repeat after me.
And we're going to do that twice for each line and then I'm going to bring it all together so that you have the full prayer for you and then you can go back and rewind and listen to it again.
And just remember that as you're learning have patience with yourself.
If you're not familiar with Sanskrit then don't expect yourself to get this right away but I promise you with dedication and when you listen and you begin to really understand the meaning which I'm going to share with you at the very end that you will start to really feel these words in your body.
And before you begin anything you can go ahead and start with the Saraswati Shloka.
So let's begin.
Om Saraswati Namastu Byam Varadhe Kamarupini Vidyarambam Karishyami Siddhir Bhavatume Sada Now I will be splitting this up and when I have some silence that's your turn to repeat and I'll be doing this twice.
Saraswati Namastu Byam Saraswati Namastu Byam Varadhe Kamarupini Vidyarambam Karishyami Siddhir Bhavatume Sada Now from the beginning I'll be saying the entire mantra.
Om Saraswati Namastu Byam Varadhe Kamarupini Vidyarambam Karishyami Siddhir Bhavatume Sada Om Saraswati Namastu Byam Varadhe Kamarupini Vidyarambam Karishyami Siddhir Bhavatume Sada Om Shanti Shanti Shanti He Translation of this.
Salutation to you,
O Goddess Saraswati,
Who is the giver of boons and who has a beautiful form.
I now begin my studies.
Please grace me with success always.
Namaste.
