Welcome home when anger has nowhere to go.
Settle your body into a position that feels supported.
Let your hands rest where they land.
And if it feels safe,
Close your eyes.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in through your nose.
And a long exhale through the mouth.
Again,
Inhale.
And exhale.
Bring your attention now to your belly.
Not to change it.
Not to calm it.
Just to notice.
Notice any heat here.
Any pressure.
Any tightness.
If your jaw is clenched,
Let yourself become aware of it.
Not forcing it open.
Just noticing the work it's been doing.
This is where anger often lives and has no place to go.
You don't need to explain this anger.
Or justify it.
You don't even need to soften it.
Let it be here.
This anger isn't bad.
It isn't wrong.
And it's not too much.
It's energy that has been held for too long.
If your anger feels explosive,
Even volcanic,
Imagine it like heat beneath the surface of the earth.
It didn't appear out of nowhere.
It built up slowly,
Layer by layer,
And moment by moment.
Each time you were overstimulated.
Each time you were needed but not held.
Each time rest was postponed.
Each time your boundary went unnoticed.
Let yourself acknowledge that.
Now,
Silently or out loud,
You can say to this anger,
I see you.
I take you seriously.
Notice what shifts when this is witnessed.
Even just a little bit.
This anger is not here to destroy you.
It's a messenger.
Ask it gently.
What are you protecting?
And you don't need words yet.
Notice any sensation,
Image,
Or a feeling that arises when you ask this.
A tightening.
A softening.
A wave.
A pause.
If it feels right,
Bring one hand to your belly now.
And one hand over your heart.
Let your breath travel downward as if you're giving this anger a place to land.
Inhale here.
And exhale.
Each exhale allows a release,
Not an eruption.
Release does not mean disappearance.
It just means movement.
Imagine the heat in your belly slowly draining downward through your hips,
Your legs,
Your feet.
Let it move into the ground beneath you.
The earth knows how to hold heat.
It knows how to neutralize energy without rejecting it.
Because you don't have to carry this alone.
As the energy moves,
Notice what remains.
Not happiness.
Not forced calm.
Just neutrality.
A steadiness.
A quiet middle ground.
This is what it feels like when anger has been heard.
Take one more deep breath here.
If your jaw wants to soften now,
Let it.
And if it doesn't,
That's okay too.
You're not behind.
You're not failing.
You're learning how to let anger pass through you instead of turning against yourself.
And before we close,
Remind yourself,
My body is wise.
My anger is information.
And I am allowed to rest.
Welcome home.
