The 3 / 6 Profile in Human Design is here to become a Role Model to others through lived experience. They go through an intense trial and error process in their early life, then integrate and embody what they’ve learned through their experiences and eventually become a role model to others. They have a unique tri-phase life process that’s different from other 6-line profiles. In this episode, I cover the 3 / 6 Martyr/Role Model Human Design profile, including each line individually, how they combine into this unique and rare profile the challenges they may face in life and in business, and how to overcome those challenges so they can be on purpose and fulfill their potential. In a quiet California suburb,

He experimented his way through growing up in a place that he later referred to as boring.

Always testing boundaries,

His experimentations often led to mishaps,

But more often than not,

They resulted in laughter.

His high school years were filled with self-discovery through trial and error,

Which helped shape his comedic talents and reinforced his love for making people laugh.

He studied sports journalism in college,

Which was another failed experiment and taught him what doesn't actually work for him.

A conventional career path was not in the cards.

He started experimenting with small comedy gigs and improv,

A perfect outlet for his boundless energy and a chance to fail forward in the world of comedy.

By the age of 30,

He had auditioned for and landed a spot on Saturday Night Live.

His time on the show allowed him to master his craft and to showcase his wit and his ability to laugh at himself.

This time marked a major shift.

He was no longer just experimenting,

He was creating a legacy.

After leaving Saturday Night Live in his late 30s,

He transitioned into film,

Where he took on a mix of roles that ranged from hilarious to heartfelt.

He brought a unique blend of authenticity and outlandishness to each character,

Which further established him in Hollywood.

As he approached 50,

He started producing and co-writing projects,

Investing in the creative process behind the scenes.

His focus turned from experimentation to mentorship.

He encouraged and uplifted emerging comedians,

All while continuing to act in roles that now carried a touch of wisdom.

To this day,

This comedy legend remains a pillar of the entertainment industry.

Will Ferrell is a 3-6 profile in human design.

In today's episode,

I'll go over the 3-6 profile,

I'll cover each of the lines individually,

The third line and the sixth line,

And then how they blend together in this unique and rare human design profile.

I'll also cover some of the challenges and pitfalls that come up in this profile and how to make the most of them in business so you can be on purpose and fulfill your potential.

If you are a 3-6 profile,

You have a 3 or a 6 in your profile,

Or you love somebody who does,

This episode is for you.

Welcome to Heart-Centered Human Design,

Emotional intelligence and conscious business.

The show for heart-centered entrepreneurs that want meaningful success and work-life balance so they can wake up every day feeling empowered,

Inspired,

And supported by work and life.

I'm your host,

Vanessa Najda,

Human design nerd,

Mentor,

And business coach,

And I love sharing this amazing system with you so that you can use it to fulfill your potential.

If you're brand new to human design or you want a refresher of where all of these numbers come from,

Go back to Season 1,

Episode 29,

Which is the Introduction to Profiles,

And you'll learn all about where these numbers actually come from.

And I did individual episodes on each one of these numbers,

So you can check the third line profile in Season 1,

Episode 32,

And the sixth line episode is in Season 1,

Episode 35.

The 3-6 profile is one of the personal profiles,

And what this means is that they really have to work through their own self-discovery process in order to make a contribution to others.

So this very much starts on the inside first,

Doing that inner internal work before bringing that out and connecting with other people.

The third line in this profile is the conscious line.

So the third line in traditional human design is known as the martyr.

And the reason for this name is that the third lines tend to learn through trial and error.

They also are very good at recognizing what doesn't work and what is not true,

And they will call out those things,

And they are willing to take the flak for it.

So this is where that martyr name came from.

In BG5,

The third line is referred to as the pioneer because they are designed to discover what does and doesn't work and then share that with others.

They tend to go first in the discovery process.

Now,

The conscious part of this is that somebody that has a 3-6 profile is likely going to be very aware of this part of their process.

They probably know that they tend to learn through trial and error and that they like to experiment in order to learn,

They like to get their hands dirty.

And they really have this experiential,

Experimental learning process.

One of the things that can happen with third lines is that they,

Especially in early childhood,

If they receive that conditioning that it is not okay to make mistakes,

There can be a lot of shame around that,

And that can hold third line profiles back from experimenting.

The thing is they absolutely have to experiment as part of fulfilling their purpose because remember they're designed to discover what does and doesn't work,

And the way they do that is through their unique trial and error process.

So if somebody with a third line profile has a lot of shame and has a lot of fear of making mistakes,

It's so important that they do the deconditioning work and the healing work around that shame and that they continue with their experimentation process.

When you're dealing with a third line profile,

It is so important to always ask them,

What did you learn?

Ask yourself,

If you're a third line profile,

What did you learn?

Because that is the gold in the trial and error process.

There is no such thing as failure.

There is only feedback and then course correction in the process of eventually discovering what does actually work and then sharing it with the rest of us so that we can learn from your creative process without making the same mistakes.

Having a sense of humor,

If you have a three in your profile,

Is really helpful,

And I think that helped Will Ferrell quite a bit,

Knowing how to laugh at yourself,

Recognizing like,

Oh,

Well,

That didn't work,

And then just moving on,

Not beating yourself up about it,

And not buying into anybody else's negative beliefs or limiting beliefs around making mistakes.

You are designed to find those mistakes,

Make them,

Learn from them,

And move forward.

So it's that theme of failing forward.

That is how you grow.

That is how you learn.

And the third line is also the most material of the lines,

And they are designed to figure out how to make things work in the material world through this trial and error process.

Moving on to the sixth line,

They have a very unique three-phase process in life.

The sixth line is the role model in human design,

And they have this bigger picture perspective and they're able to see things that other people don't necessarily see.

They're designed to become incredibly wise throughout their three-phase process in order to really become the role model that they are designed to be.

Now,

In the first 30 years,

A sixth line behave very much like a third line.

And this is very significant in the three-sixth profile because those first 30 years are going to be even more experimental than somebody else that has a third line in their profile,

But not a sixth line.

They're going to be learning through trial and error.

They are going to be making those mistakes.

There's going to potentially be a lot of failed relationships,

Failed work,

Failed just things not working out during that phase.

And for somebody with a sixth line profile,

This can be a pretty challenging time.

And so what happens around age 30 during their Saturn return,

They move into the next phase of their life,

Which is often referred to as the roof phase.

They withdraw.

It's like they climb up on their roof.

They withdraw from society.

They go into this inward process of integrating all of those lessons that they've learned from the first 30 years.

Now,

For many sixth line profiles,

This can be very,

Almost a little jarring.

Like,

I used to be so experimental.

Like,

What happened?

Like,

Why am I so different?

And understanding that this is just part of that trajectory.

This is where you go into that integration process is so important.

Now,

Sixth lines can seem rather aloof when they go into this process.

And I've shared before in other episodes,

My brother is actually a 4'6",

And he went on the roof before I knew about human design.

And my feelings were actually,

I was like,

What happened to my brother?

Like,

Where did my brother go?

My sister-in-law,

Also a 4'6".

Same thing.

You can really notice the difference in them.

Now in the 3'6 profile,

This is going to be not quite as pronounced as other sixth line profiles because they still always have that third line aspect in their design.

However,

During that second phase,

Like any sixth line,

There is also that process of integration.

Now,

Sixth lines do have this far-reaching vision,

And they can see a lot of potential.

They can be prone to perfectionism.

And this is a big issue that can hold sixth lines back in business.

Perfectionism and only wanting to put out things that are perfect is never going to work because there's no such thing as perfection.

There is excellence.

Excellence is a wonderful thing to strive for.

But in order to create in business,

Especially with a sixth line and especially with a 3'6",

You're going to have to put out things that are not perfect and allow yourself to evolve and grow.

Perfectionism can really hold sixth lines back.

And there can also be self-criticism with that perfectionism.

So being aware that this is something that can show up for sixth lines through their entire life and reframing,

Doing deconditioning work around perfectionism is really important.

Around the age of 50,

When they hit their chiron returns,

Is when the sixth line comes off the roof.

And this is when they have integrated everything they have learned from that first 30-year process during their roof phase,

And now they're ready to step out and really share their wisdom with the world.

They are in a place where they are leading by example.

So they don't even have to do anything specific.

It's just through being their authentic selves and expressing who they are living their lives that they are a role model to other people.

Authenticity is really important for sixth lines,

As is trust.

Trust for a sixth line is essential.

If you break a sixth line's trust,

Getting it back is going to be a struggle and might not happen at all.

Another thing that can happen with sixth lines is that they can be really focused on finding their soulmates.

That can be that idealistic aspect and really wanting to connect with their soulmate.

And in that early life process,

That trial and error,

That failed relationships,

That finding what doesn't work in relationships can be really difficult for a sixth line.

However,

With following the strategy and authority,

They will find the people that are correct for them.

Whether that be romantic partners,

Business partners,

Friends,

It's really following your strategy and authority,

Moving with your process to connect with the right people for you.

Putting the three six together,

This is a very rare,

Unique profile.

It's only about maybe 2.

5% of the population,

If that,

That have this profile.

And this one is a little bit challenging,

Especially during those first 30 years when they are in that double third line phase.

This is just exponential experimentation.

This can really be,

You know,

Learning everything that doesn't work.

I've heard this referred to as touching a socket,

Getting shocked,

And then having to test to see if that happens every time.

Those types of things,

That third line process in those first 30 years can be really challenging.

So for a young three six,

It is so important to know that this is part of the learning process to really be able to laugh at themselves.

If you have a young three six in your life,

Or really anybody with a third line or a sixth line,

Always asking,

What did you learn?

Focusing on what did you learn?

There is no such thing as a mistake,

There's no such thing as failure,

It is just learning and growing through the experience,

Discovering what doesn't work,

So then you can discover what does work.

Now,

As they move on to the roof phase,

This can often be a distinct phase.

Remember,

The roof phase for Will Ferrell was when he auditioned for Saturday Night Live and he got onto Saturday Night Live.

For a three six,

It's not going to be,

That roof phase is not going to be as pronounced as for other people with six lines in their profile,

Because they are going to continue to come back down and experiment,

They might crawl up for a little while,

Do some integration and come back down and experiment.

That third line is always going to be alive and kicking in them,

Even while they are on the roof.

And then the role model,

Like after age 50,

And with Will Ferrell,

This is when he started producing and mentoring other comedians.

So really stepping out into that role model phase and sharing what he has learned through his three six process,

Through the integration that he did on the roof,

Sharing that with other people and demonstrating through experience,

Through authenticity,

Through leadership,

What it is like to live an amazing life.

This is something that six lines do,

They really demonstrate just by being themselves.

This is a leading by example,

And there is a lot of leadership in that six line that really does come from authentic self-expression and being yourself.

I think Will Ferrell is really such a great example of this profile because he had fun with it,

He laughed at himself,

He used what he learned to really feel forward,

Learning from that experience,

Maybe falling on his face,

Getting back up and continuing to move forward into an incredible career that has spanned for decades and is still going.

So with that three six profile,

Remember those pitfalls can be the fear of failure,

The fear of making mistakes,

Perfectionism,

All of these things that can keep people from moving forward in their business,

From really stepping out into who they are meant to be.

It is so important to do the deconditioning work,

To follow your strategy and authority because that will guide you into the right experiences.

It will help you discover the right mistakes to make in order to learn,

And it will help connect you with the right people that you are designed to lead.

So that's it for the three six profile.

I would love to hear what you thought of this episode.

So please share in the comments what came up for you.

Are you a three six profile?

If so,

I really want to hear your experience.

You are incredibly,

Incredibly rare.

The NOAA three six profile.

How have you experienced them in your life?

Thank you so much for listening.
