Welcome to this Yoga Nidra practice.

Yoga Nidra has the potential to take you beyond the body,

Mind,

And emotions into the deepest and truest essence of who you are.

A being of light,

A once in a lifetime cosmic event that has a purpose only you can fulfill.

Accessing that light and sharing it with the world as only you can is essential to being on purpose and fulfilling your potential.

Lay your body down to rest on your back with your arms released out to the sides,

Palms facing up,

Legs extended from the hips.

You may want to elevate your knees on a bolster and place a thin pillow under your head if needed.

I invite you to find a position that is as comfortable as possible and where you can rest for the duration of the practice.

Give your body permission to release any tension it may be holding and to fully rest.

Invite your scalp and forehead to soften and release any tension from your face and jaw.

Feel your head becoming heavy as the muscles in your neck release,

Your collarbones widen,

And your shoulders open.

Feel a wave of relaxation cascading down your arms into your hands and fingers.

Scan down the length of your spine,

Allowing each vertebra to release into gravity.

Feel all the muscles of your back spreading and softening on the surface beneath you.

Allow your hips and pelvis to open and release the tops of your thigh bones into the back of your hip sockets.

Feel a wave of relaxation cascading down your legs into your feet and toes.

Bring your attention to your heart.

What is your deepest desire?

Your Samkalpa.

This is an intention that you want to realize in your life now.

It is a short,

Positive statement beginning with the words,

I am,

Followed by the potential you desire to manifest.

Some examples might be,

I am at peace.

I am love and light.

I am connected to all there is.

Continue to use the same Samkalpa in your Yoga Nidra practice until it has manifested in your life.

Repeat your Samkalpa silently three times,

Knowing that this sacred seed you are planting will bear fruit as you continue to nurture it.

The practice of Yoga Nidra begins now.

I will take you on a journey through your physical body.

As I name each body part,

Bring your full awareness and attention to that part.

Imagine sense and feel it being flooded with a brilliant golden white light.

Starting in the right side of the body,

In your right hand thumb.

See and feel your right thumb being flooded with light.

Feel and see this light expanding to the index finger,

Middle finger,

Ring finger,

And pinky finger.

Palm,

Back of the hand.

See the entire right hand flooded with light.

The light flows into the wrist,

Forearm,

Elbow,

Upper arm,

Shoulder,

Underarm,

Right side of the ribcage,

Waist,

Right hip,

Thigh,

Knee,

Lower leg,

Ankle,

Top of the foot,

Heel,

Sole of the foot.

Sense the entire right foot flooded with light.

The right big toe,

Second toe,

Third toe,

Fourth toe,

And fifth toe.

Sense and feel the entire right leg flooded with light.

The entire right side of the body glowing with a brilliant,

Beautiful golden white light.

The light now flows into the left side of the body,

Into the left hand thumb.

See and feel your left thumb being flooded with light.

Feel and see the light expanding to the index finger,

Middle finger,

Ring finger,

Pinky finger,

Palm,

Back of the hand,

The entire left hand flooded with beautiful,

Brilliant golden white light.

It flows into the wrist,

Forearm,

Elbow,

Upper arm,

Shoulder,

Underarm,

Left side of the ribcage,

Left hip,

Thigh,

Knee,

Lower leg,

Ankle,

Top of the foot,

Sense the entire left foot flooded with light.

Sense and feel the entire left leg flooded with light.

And the entire left side of the body filled with beautiful,

Brilliant golden white light.

Bring your awareness to the soles of both feet.

See and feel them flooding with a brilliant golden white light.

Feel the light flowing up the backs of the legs,

Into the buttocks,

Up the spine into the lower back,

Middle back,

Upper back.

Sense the back of your neck being flooded with light.

It flows into the back of the head,

Top of the head,

Forehead,

Right eyebrow,

Left eyebrow,

The space between the eyebrows.

Right eye,

Left eye,

Right cheek,

Left cheek,

Right ear,

Left ear,

The space between the ears,

Right nostril,

Left nostril,

The nose,

Upper lip,

Lower lip,

Chin,

Throat,

Right side of the chest,

Left side of the chest,

Center of the chest,

Upper belly,

Lower belly,

Pelvis,

Pelvic floor.

The light flows through the pelvis and up,

Lighting up all the internal organs.

It flows into the heart,

The lungs,

Through the throat into the mouth,

Back to the brain stem,

And up into the brain.

Sense and feel the entire brain flooded with brilliant golden white light,

Expanding in all directions.

Feel the entire head flooded with light.

Now add the neck and torso,

Both arms and both legs.

Feel your entire body flooded with a brilliant golden white light,

Radiating in all directions.

Release your focus from the body.

Bring your awareness to your breath.

Observe the breath exactly as it is without trying to control or change it.

Notice the natural pauses that occur between each breath.

Immerse yourself in the stillness of the pauses.

Visualize pure golden white light filling up your lungs on each inhale,

Expanding and radiating out of your body in all directions on every exhale.

Allow the light to get brighter and ready further with each breath.

Release your focus from the breath.

You will now explore opposite sensations and bring them into oneness,

Bringing unity to duality.

Feel your body sinking into darkness,

Completely disappearing into the vast expanse of darkness of the universe.

It's the darkness of space.

Now see the light that is born from the darkness.

Feel your body filling with light,

Emanating light from every cell in your body,

Shining brightly like the sun.

Release the light and sink back into darkness,

Disappearing into the black of the night.

Bringing back the light again,

Allowing it to radiate through your entire body.

Now simultaneously experience darkness and light.

The darkness surrounding the light,

The light being born out of the darkness.

One cannot exist without the other.

Feel this paradox throughout your entire being.

Bring your awareness into the dark,

Empty space behind your closed eyes and forehead.

I will call out numerous images.

Allow these images to appear in this space,

Flowing from one image to the next as I name them.

The reflection of the moon on a tranquil lake.

A starlit night sky.

Drops of sunlight filtered through the canopy of a redwood forest.

The aurora borealis.

A rainbow.

Sunrays glittering on water.

A candle flame.

The light reflected in the eyes of someone you love.

A bolt of lightning.

A bonfire on the beach.

A halo.

Light dancing beneath the calm surface of a tranquil bay.

The sun on a beautiful cascading waterfall.

Release the images and bring your awareness to the pineal gland in the center of the brain.

Allow your body's wisdom to guide you to the right place and trust that you are there.

Let your awareness sink deep into the gland.

Into the cells of the gland.

Into the nucleus of the cell.

See an individual DNA strand coiled up inside the nucleus.

The strand unravels and turns into a wormhole,

Funneling light from the ether into the cell.

See and feel this light emanating out of the nucleus.

Visualize it permeating out through the cell membrane and connecting with the light from all of the other cells.

Sense and feel this happening in all the DNA strands inside the nucleus of each of your 60 trillion cells.

Feel the light flooding into your body through your DNA.

The light expands,

Penetrating your skin and radiating out of your body.

Feel it emerging and expanding into the space that surrounds you.

Turn the light up like turning up a dimmer switch as it expands to illuminate the entire room.

Feel it penetrating the walls and expanding to illuminate your surroundings.

Until it expanding across the world.

Until it illuminates and lights up the entire planet.

Feel and see the light radiating out into the atmosphere and the solar system.

Notice as it continues to expand until it envelops the entire galaxy.

The light keeps growing and expanding throughout the entire universe.

Feel this infinite light shining in all directions,

Illuminating everything and connecting you with all there is.

Feel the oneness of you,

The light and everything in the universe.

I will leave you in this state for a little while to experience the pure bliss of the divine light of your own true nature.

Congratulations.

You in this deep state of consciousness allow your sankalpa to surface into awareness repeat it to yourself silently three times and allow it to emanate into all parts of your being and beyond you bring your awareness back to your breath allow the breath to deepen and feel it pushing against the walls of your body sense the contact your body is making with the surface beneath you in your own time start to slowly move your fingers and toes allow the movement to gently work its way into your arms and legs roll over onto your side into the fetal position and take a few moments here and when you're ready come to a seated position and open your eyes the practice of yoga nidra is now complete Hariyam tat sat Hariyam tat sat Hariyam tat sat namaste

I really enjoyed feeling and seeing the light spread through my body with the rotation of consciousness. It was like the marriage of two practices that work well for me and that I like very much on their own.
