David was a man after God's own heart.
Chosen to be king of Israel.
Although he did not feel quite equipped.
He gave God his yes.
This is a prayer and reflection of the books of Samuel.
Lord,
Teach me to have faith like David.
In all of my imperfection and humanness.
To always turn to you first in prayer.
To bring you my stresses,
The weight I'm carrying,
Fear of failure.
To trust you with it first.
To remember that your spirit dwells in me.
And it doesn't matter how many times the enemy tries to attack.
I will always win when I'm with you.
Help me to live a life that walks consistently and faithfully,
With small steps of obedience,
Even in the midst of opposition.
Help me to find strength in you,
My God.
Lead me to surrender the gifts you've given to me.
Giving you all the glory and honor for my successes.
Give me patience to know that you will avenge my enemies and I don't need to take matters into my own hands.
Help me remember that you reward everyone for their righteousness and faithfulness.
I know you are in control even when life seems out of control.
I know that you care for me even when I feel far from you.
I know you are always moving me closer to my purpose,
Even in moments it may not feel like it.
And for that.
.
.
I thank you,
Lord.
