Welcome everyone.
Today we're exploring how to reset our anxiety when old patterns resurface.
This is a short two minute pause for you to acknowledge and begin to change your relationship with the thoughts that surface when we meet an old pattern without letting it pull us back into an old version of ourselves.
Let's dive right in.
One of the more confusing parts of growth is seeing that old patterns can still show up.
That you have changed,
Learned,
Made different choices,
And still find yourself reacting in a way that feels familiar,
That feels like something you have left behind.
It can be tempting to see that as evidence that nothing has really changed,
That all of the work,
The effort has gone unnoticed,
That you've somehow gone backwards.
But an old pattern showing up isn't the same thing as becoming your old self again.
So the question I encourage you to ask is,
Why is this showing up right now?
What is it about this timing?
Where I am.
What I'm doing that is bringing this back up.
And most importantly,
What is it asking me to remember about myself?
Is it your power?
Your capacity,
Your center,
Your values.
Sometimes an old pattern is actually here to show you how much you've grown because you can see something now that you couldn't see before.
Sometimes it's showing you what you've outgrown.
And it might be showing you where you're still vulnerable,
But there's value in knowing the difference.
You can notice the pattern without following it.
You can recognize the pattern and seek to understand it without making it your identity.
And most importantly,
You can choose what happens next.
What you do with this powder now is evidence of who you've become.
So as you move through whatever is coming up for you,
Remember that this old pattern does not erase the growth that's happened since.
You don't have to fight it.
Fix it,
Or become it.
Continue to the next track for a short meditation that helps you practice exactly this.
